A Powerful Message from A Powerful Woman

In all my years in Christian television, I’ve never met a woman like Brigitte Gabriel.

I’ve had the chance to interview some exceptional people on my shows — politicians, entertainers  from all walks of life, and a multitude of preachers and prophetic voices — but I have never heard a story as powerful as hers. I talk about how our entire world can be turned upside down in an instant, how quickly we can lose nearly everything we know, and here is a remarkable woman who has lived through it all. Dr. Gary Smalley, Champion to Marriage and Family Passes on to Heaven

“Life is relationships; the rest is just details.”   Gary Smalley

The PTL Television Network, Jim Bakker Show, the Bakker family and all of us here at Morningside are praying today for the friends and family of a wonderful man, Dr. Gary Smalley who passed into heaven over the weekend in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Smalley devoted his professional life to guiding others in repairing marriages that were all but broken.  He and his beautiful wife Norma began an organization devoted to families and to the intimate and heartfelt ministry of developing good and solid marriages in 1979.  Their organization eventually evolved into retreat centers in 10 different cities.

Gary’s heart was to educate and inspire couples to love better and last a life-time!  But, even with the thousands of couples that he has helped through his retreat centers, counseling, speaking engagements and books, he spoke proudest of his two wonderful sons, Greg and Mike, his beautiful daughter Kari, and the amazing families they are raising. Every single day, there was never a doubt that he was completely aware of the love and blessings he had with the light of his life, his wife Norma.

Gary Smalley became one of the country’s best-known authors and speakers on family relationships. He is the author and co-author of 60 books along with several popular films and videos. He has spent over 35 years learning, teaching, and counseling. In a heartfelt post on facebook a friend wrote these words,

“For the zillions profoundly impacted by Gary & Norma Smalley’s ministry and all those who have resurrected & salvaged dead-end relationships…and for those who just want to know how to do relationships right….this will be a loss heard around the world for decades to come.”

According to a post by his daughter on her facebook page, Dr. Smalley’s last days were spent surrounded by his loving family. The last words spoken over him were “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;”  Numbers 6:24-25

According to an article in Christian News Today, a celebration of life will take place Saturday, March 19 at 3:00 p.m. at College of the Ozarks Chapel in Point Lookout, Missouri. It will be open to the public for all who wish to honor Smalley’s life and legacy.

Our hearts and prayers are with Dr. Smalley’s family and friends but we also feel the joy of knowing that he is where love begins and ends, held within God’s loving arms.

Make 2016 the Year of the Bible

Remember when God told me it was time to batten down the hatches?

When He spoke to me, I was sitting in Lori’s closet; actually, it’s more like a woman cave. You’ve heard of a man cave, right? Well, Lori’s got this amazing closet filled with all her things and there’s a little desk where you can sit. I find that it’s a wonderful, quiet place for me to talk to God and listen to His word. Security & Economy, Greatest Threats to Americans ~ Rick Joyner

Rick Joyner is a true Christian leader for today.  Founder and Executive Director of MorningStar Ministries and Heritage International Ministries, he has authored more than forty books.  His opinion is sought after by leaders all over the world for his no nonsense, biblical, and common sense approach.

Rick is a true friend to Morningside. We truly respect his prophetic take on U.S. and world events and we understand his prophetic relationship with God.

Here are two recent posts from Rick regarding our economy.  https://www.facebook.com/RickJoyner.MorningStar .  Don’t forget that Rick Joyner will be here at Morningside, February 16th at 11:30am, for taping of the Jim Bakker Show!

Rick Joyner 1-2-16 Facepost Post

The 2 biggest issues with the majority of Americans at this time are: #1 – Security, and #2 – the economy. It is likely that they will remain the top two until election, though they may occasionally change which one is on top. I think these are both the greatest threats to us at this time. I want to begin the year both illuminating the reasons for the crises we’re now facing, but also possible solutions, and will start with security because it does not matter how well you’re doing economically if you’re dead.

We will begin with the major sources of security threats:

1) Porous borders

2) Incompetent immigration procedures

3) Rogue nations with or attaining nuclear weapons and other WMD’s

4) Incompetent leaders and strategy at DHS

5) Weakening of U.S. military by cutbacks and the purging of competent leadership

6) Weakening of FBI and Intelligence Agencies

7) Cyber Security

8) Recent systematic attacks on law enforcement

9) Economic attacks intended to weaken the nation

10) Gov. policies weakening the economy and thereby weakening our ability to address the above

Any one of these areas could be the open door through which we suffer a crippling attack. If we are to be secure each of these must be addressed. Please share your ideas.

1/4/16 Rick Joyner Facebook Post

The Dow is off more than 400 points as I write, mostly on the bad news out of China. I warned about this news in my first post of the NY on Jan.2, and how this news of the Chinese slowdown would impact the whole world. The world economy is in a very dangerous place, and our world leaders are mostly politicians, not economists, and don’t understand world economics enough to lead us through what is coming. We are entering into very treacherous waters in many areas now, but I expect the economy to eclipse just about every other crisis as the #1 issue on the minds of people in the not too distant future. We need to not only pray for our leaders, but pray for leaders that can navigate through the times we’re entering.

Whose Side Are You On?

In the news, Iran celebrates while chanting ‘Death to Israel and America’. Israel reels from a proposed contract that threatens their nation’s very existence and leaders of our American government congratulate themselves on making a deal regarding nuclear weapon capabilities with Iran.  As a lifelong, passionate student of the Word of God, I should be saying that this doesn’t surprise me.  Although the Bible has been warning of these last days and what will happen, I would not have imagined that America would turn on Israel as it has now. I am witnessing what is happening with my own eyes all the while knowing deep in my heart that it is our relationship with Israel that has that has kept us from Judgment rather than ‘given us grace with God’.   It seems the world has gone topsy turvy.  What made sense in our lives even a year ago in our country and around the world has changed. What do we do? Continue reading

Be Prepared Wherever You Go – What to Keep In Your Car

Proverbs 22:3 (NCV) The wise see danger ahead and avoid it, but fools keep going and get into trouble.

For the next couple of weeks, both Jim and I have decided to focus; really focus on being prepared for emergency situations. As you probably already know, I am someone that likes to be prepared for anything.  My family has teased me about it for years but guess who they come to when we are traveling and they need something that only I anticipated to pack?  For me, the security in knowing that my family is prepared for the unexpected is worth a little extra thought and just a little time.    Continue reading

Learn to Love the Journey

I am constantly asked how I got to where I am today.  How did you get to Morningside?  How did you become the co-host of an internationally syndicated television program at 24 years old? Was it easy?  Did it happen overnight?  I want to say a resounding NO.  It did not happen overnight. Of the stories you have heard so far I feel like I have lived a pretty supernatural life.  I have always been sensitive to the supernatural realm and I listen to the Holy Spirit inside of me.  If He tells me to do something, I do it. The Expected Unexpected

On Monday morning, April 27th, the people of Baltimore woke to a normal Monday morning.  There was tension in the air from the recent demonstrations that the city had been experiencing. But most families, I would imagine, were not thinking about riots and looting or fires and destruction.  People woke up, had their breakfast, got their children to school and went to work.  Most were not prepared for what was to come. Continue reading
