Hamas Claims Ceasefire Is “Triumph Over Israel”

An open-ended truce in the conflict between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas goes into effect tonight but it is not being billed as a cease-fire by the terrorists.

Hamas sent out a graphic of three Palestinian gunfighters pointing weapons at an Israeli soldier who was raising his hands in the air while holding a white flag.  The caption on the graphic says “and so Gaza has triumphed.”

Hamas also had their members take to the streets after the beginning of the cease-fire to celebrate their “victory.”

Mosques throughout the Gaza strip were broadcasting messages of celebration and celebratory chants of “Allahu Akbar” while Palestinians who had been in shelters because of the conflict made their way outside.

Hamas launched a final barrage of rockets toward Tel Aviv just before the start of the cease-fire.

Israeli officials, however, say the deal does not include any of Hamas’ demands including an airport and a seaport.  No prisoners were going to be released as part of the Egyptian-brokered agreement.

U.N. Human Rights Council Picks Anti-Semitic Lawyer For Gaza Inquiry

Israel has released strong statements about the appointment of a Canadian lawyer with anti-Semitic views to head the inquiry into the conflict along the Gaza strip.

“This commission’s anti-Israeli conclusions have already been written, all it needs is a signature,” Israel foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said to AFP news agency.  “For this commission the important thing is not human rights but the rights of terrorist organizations like Hamas.”

William Schabas says the accusations are “absurd.”

“The suggestion that I’m anti-Israel is absurd,” Schabas said according to The Canadian Press.  “Like everybody inside and outside Israel, I disagree with people. Is everyone in Israel who has an opinion about (Benjamin) Netanyahu anti-Israel?”

However, critics of Schabas include even members of his own government.

“UN Human Rights Council continues to be a sham for advancing human rights; today’s (announcement) for members of its Gaza inquiry reveals its agenda,” Canadian Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird wrote on Twitter.  “It’s an utter shame and will do nothing to promote peace and dignity in Gaza for the Palestinian people.”

The head of a U.N. watchdog group says that Schabas must stand down because of his previous criticisms of the Israeli government.

“Under international law, William Schabas is obliged to recuse himself because his repeated calls to indict Israeli leaders obviously gives rise to actual bias or the appearance thereof,” Hillel Neuer of UN Watch said in a statement.

Chicago Imam Calls On Muslims To “Wage Jihad” Against Israel

A video leaked online from the Chicago Islamic Center shows a local imam telling those in attendance to “wage jihad” against Israel “for the sake of Allah.”

The clips of the video were released by the Middle East Media Research Institute showing the rant from Sheikh Mohamed Elimam in July.

“Oh, those of you who want to wage jihad for the sake of Allah, Palestine is calling you and Gaza is crying out for your help,” he declares. “If you are true believers, real mujahideen, hasten to Palestine.  The enemy was planted in the midst of the Arab nation and they chose Jerusalem, Palestine—the most important area—in order to be a thorn in the side of the Arab and Islamic nations.  May Allah pull this thorn out and stick it down their throats. May they be sent back to their countries in shame and disgrace, Allah willing.”

The video shows those in attendance chanting for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews.

The similar message was delivered to the crowd at a pro-Hamas rally in Miami that led to a Jewish photographer having to flee because of the threat of violence.

Islamist TV Host Burns Israeli Flag On Air

The open hatred of Israel in the middle east is rising to new levels in the wake of their defending themselves against Hamas terrorist attacks.

Zoher Al-Azzeh, a prominent television host on Jordan’s 7 Stars TV, called for the U.S. Embassy in Jordan to be shut down saying it was a spy outpost for Israel.  Then he aired footage of the Israeli offensive against Hamas intercut with pictures he claimed were children hurt in the offensive.

Then he pulled out an Israeli flag and set it on fire.

“For the sake of Palestine and its children, allow me to burn this filthy flag of the Zionist entity for the whole world to see,” Al-Azzah said.  “The world should know that the Zionists are our enemies. They are criminal murderers and we must fight them.  We must demand that all Arab peoples expel them from their countries, starting with Jordan.”

No other host on Jordanian TV challenged the openly anti-Semitic actions and comments of Al-Azzah.

Iranian Leader: Only Solution Is Israel’s Destruction

Iran’s supreme leader has been reported by Iran’s official news agency as saying the only way to achieve peace in Gaza is to destroy Israel.

The declaration came the same day that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said they have a new missile system that can completely destroy Israel’s Iron Dome system and leave them vulnerable to rocket attacks by Hamas and other terrorist organizations.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a group of college students Israel’s existence is the reason for the conflict in Gaza.

“These crimes which are beyond imagination and show the true nature of the wolfish and child killer regime, which the only solution is its destruction,” the ayatollah declared to his audience. “However, until that time, the expansion of the armed resistance of the Palestinians of the West Bank is the only way to confront this wild regime.”

He then attacked the U.S. and England for supporting Israel.

“We believe that the West Bank needs to be armed just like Gaza and those interested in the future of Palestine must become active in this field [guerrilla warfare] so that the suffering of the Palestinian people through their strength and their weakness due to the Zionist regime is reduced,” he said. “Some Western countries including America and filthy England defend with clarity the crimes that no ordinary person would. The President of America in the face of these child killings, destruction, torture and suffering of the people in Gaza, with a comical logic states that Israel has the right to defend itself! Don’t the Palestinians have the right to defend their lives and security?”

Hamas Found Storing Rockets In Second School Building

Terrorist group Hamas has been found storing rockets used to attack Israeli civilians inside a school that has been used by the United Nations to teach Palestinian children.

“Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip,” the organization said in a statement issued Tuesday. “As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets. The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons.”

While the second time that the U.N. has found terrorist weapons in their facilities twice, no action is being taken against Hamas.  The U.N. found 20 rockets in a school last Wednesday during a routine inspection of a school.

The U.N. gave the 20 rockets last week back to the local government which is controlled by Hamas.

Israel called out the U.N. for their refusal to stop terrorists from attacking their country.

“Time and again, over the years, UNRWA has been abused by gunmen from different terrorist factions who are using UN facilities to stockpile weapons, to fire rockets from, to steal UNRWA humanitarian equipment and to cause damage and fire in UNRWA’s hangars,” a senior Israeli Foreign Ministry official told The Times of Israel.

“Against all evidence, UNRWA refuses to acknowledge reality and pathetically attempts to ingratiate itself with Hamas, pretending that nothing serious has happened,” the senior official said. “This is a classic case of beaten-wife syndrome, which we have been witnessing for years from UNRWA. The people of Gaza, and indeed taxpayers from countries who contribute to UNRWA’s budget — including Israel — deserve better.”

Benjamin Netanyahu Stands Up To U.N. Chief

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood up to the head of the United Nations during a joint press conference, calling out Ban Ki-Moon for elevating Hamas to a position other than a terrorist organization.

U.N. head Ban Ki-Moon told reporters at a press conference that the two sides need to “stop fighting, start talking.”  He went on to talk about how too many Palestinian and Israeli mothers are burying their children because of the conflict.  He also began to push the two-state solution saying nothing else was viable.

That’s when Netanyahu challenged him on his fundamental basis for the comments.

“You spoke about the regional developments,” responds Netanyahu at their joint press conference in Tel Aviv. “What we are seeing here with Hamas is another instance of Islamist extremist that has no resolvable grievance. Hamas is like ISIS, like al-Qaeda, like Hezbollah, like Boko Haram.”

“What grievance can we solve for Hamas? Their grievance is that we exist.”

Netanyahu said that Israel will continue to defend themselves in any way they feel is necessary to stop the terrorists.

Obama Administration Official Blames Israel For Violence

The White House coordinator for the Middle East is blasting Israel, saying they’re to blame for the ongoing violence in the region.

Philip Gordon, a special assistant to President Obama, took multiple shots at Israel while at the same time claiming to be the country’s strongest defender.

“Israel confronts an undeniable reality: It cannot maintain military control of another people indefinitely. Doing so is not only wrong but a recipe for resentment and recurring instability,” Gordon said. “It will embolden extremists on both sides, tear at Israel’s democratic fabric and feed mutual dehumanization.”

Gordon called Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas a “proven…reliable partner” and singled out Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for criticism because he would not restart negotiations with the Palestinians.

“How will Israel remain democratic and Jewish if it attempts to govern the millions of Palestinian Arabs who live in the West Bank?” Gordon continued. “How will it have peace if it’s unwilling to delineate a border, end the occupation and allow for Palestinian sovereignty, security and dignity? How will we prevent other states from supporting Palestinian efforts in international bodies, if Israel is not seen as committed to peace?”

Gordon’s speech in Israel is the first time a senior White House official had addressed the Israeli people directly since President Obama’s visit in March 2013.

Palestinians Attack Israelis After Teen Found Dead

Palestinians threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli police and military after the body of a Palestinian teen was found in the Jerusalem forest.

The rioting teens blocked Jerusalem’s light rail service and were driven back when Israeli defense forces responded to their assaults by firing rubber bullets at rock throwers.

Israeli investigators say they were called with a report of an Arab teen that was forced into a car and that a partially burned body was found in the woods a few hours later but say there is no evidence connecting the incidents, if a teen was actually forced into a car.

The investigators also say there is no evidence the dead teen was killed by Israelis and assert that it could be an attempt by Palestinian terror groups to deflect attention from the kidnapping and brutal murder of three Israeli teenagers by the terrorist group Hamas.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that authorities used tear gas on some of the protesters and that security in the area has been heightened.  Police have also closed holy sites in the Old City to visitors because of rock throwing Palestinian youths.

Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Divest From Companies Involved With Israel

A slim majority of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s general assembly has shown their lack of support for Israel by voting to sell any stock with companies that do business with Israel.

The 310-303 vote to sell stock in Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola Solutions came two years after a similar proposal was rejected by only two votes.  The people who supported the move claim the vote is only against companies that help Israel build homes in the Palestinian territories, showing they support Palestinian claims over Israel.

The Anti-Defamation League and other groups that support Israel met the group’s action with immediate criticism.

“The claim by the PC(USA) that it does not support the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement is simply not reflected in this resolution and the overall tone of the discussions,” The ADL said.  “[The measure is] driven by hatred of Israel.”

The Jewish Council for Public Affairs said the decision will have a “devastating impact” on the denomination’s relations with Jewish groups.

“We hold the leadership of the PCUSA accountable for squandering countless opportunities, not only to act responsibly to advance prospects for Middle East peace but also to isolate and repudiate the radical, prejudiced voices in their denomination,” the council said in a statement.
