Calling on the Line – The Journey to Morningside Continues

With a simple license plate that said “God Cares,”  I was able to breathe for the ride to the airport to catch my flight to Dallas. I knew the Master’s Commission event that I was to attend there called “The Mix” was a key to my future.  God was showing me that He was there with me, but the ride to the airport was not nearly long enough. And suddenly, we had arrived.

So far I had managed to keep my head buried in my Bible. Each word, a kind of anti-anxiety treatment, but it really only lasted for as long as I remained there. The moment I turned my head from His Word I could feel the anxiety coming back.  I had been in the midst of an almost paralyzing attack of anxiety, but I knew that God had a plan for me.  It was this plan that would make me fight every blast of fear the enemy could throw at me.   Continue reading

“My Faith is Part of Who I Am”

Ebola survivor Dr. Kent Brantly told PBS that is faith is a key part of his life.

“My faith is an integral part of who I am. It’s part of the lens through which I view everything in life. So, I can’t separate this experience from my faith.”

Brantly spoke with PBS and Christian Post about his recently released book, “Called for Life: How Loving Our Neighbor Led Us Into the Heart of the Ebola Epidemic”.

Brantly said that he has no regrets about he and his wife staying in Ebola stricken parts of Africa.

“That’s what God called us to,” Brantly told CP. “And in the whole time throughout this ordeal we knew that we were doing the right thing and were in the right place. So no matter what happened, we didn’t have regrets about it.”

The PBS interviewer asked Brantly if treatment saved him instead of his faith in God.

“I wouldn’t disagree with that statement. I don’t think there is anything special about my faith that saved my life. If anything, my faith is what put me in a position where I got Ebola,” Brantly said.

However, Brantly quickly said it was God to allowed him to live.

“I believe God used those people to save my life, not because of my great faith. It just is. And so I give God the credit for it. But I thank all of those people, and I love them.”

“I try not to compartmentalize my life into, this is my faith life, this is my work life, this is my family life.  My faith is an integral part of who I am. It’s part of the lens through which I view everything in life. So, I can’t separate this experience from my faith.”

Brantly said despite all he’s gone through, he would answer God’s call to go again.

“I would. I would. That is what Amber and I feel like. That’s the kind of life God has called us to. And in some ways, we’re really eager to get back to that, to get out of a life where we’re doing book tours and stuff and get back to the life of service that we feel called to.”

There Is Joy In The Morning

Recently we enjoyed our Fourth of July Celebration during seven amazing days of praise and coming together!  Each anointed speaker that was on our show gave us insight into our world like nobody else could!  In their words we cannot help but know that God is working, ALWAYS working out of his love for us!  Jim and I felt so blessed each and every day as we saw so many wonderful people leaving their burdens in Jesus’ hands and remembering that God has great blessings for them!   Continue reading

Burn That Bridge

It was April and I was on my way to the airport to catch a plane to Dallas, Texas.  The Lord was calling me there, I knew it! Yet, my familiar panic attacks had gotten hold of me; the enemy was determined to keep me from meeting my destiny.  My mom and sister were sitting with me in our car parked in the Walmart parking lot by the airport and I was still in the throes of a panic attack.

My Mom and Kristi were so patient and loving. I was trying to go for a long weekend at an event in Dallas called The Mix, a taste of what Master’s Commission was all about. These wonderful women finally turned to me and asked the big question, “What do you want to do Zach?”   Continue reading

The Tunnel – The Journey To Morningside Continues

In my last blog I had just heard of Master’s Media from my brother during Christmas time of my senior year.

Lloyd Zeigler who was the leader at the Phoenix First Master’s Commission had decided to start another ministry in Dallas, Texas and my brother had moved there with him.  He said, “Listen Zach, there is something coming up this February, (about two months away) and it’s called “The Mix”.  Kids from all around the country come to Dallas and spend two or three days at the Master’s Commission there.  You will have a compact, fast taste of Master’s Commission that will give you the chance to see if this is something you really would like to do.” Continue reading

Morningside Celebrates Lori’s House Grand Opening!

The Grand Opening of Lori’s House was a celebration full of smiles and true thankfulness to God and all that have donated, worked thousands of hours, encouraged and prayed!  On July 4th, almost 4 years to the day of its dedication, Lori’s House opened it’s doors to saving lives!

“What better day to dedicate a home that encourages life and renewing!  It has been a long road to opening this wonderful place for young pregnant women to go and have their babies instead of aborting them,”  Pastor Jim Bakker commented. “Lori warned me that there would be warfare. And there truly was, but we made it and we will cut the ribbon today!  God is on our side!!”

Lori Bakker thanked the many people who have had a part in this miracle remembering the amazing people who have donated with such generosity and believe in this cause.  She thanked the many who have prayed daily for this ministry and the staff and volunteers that have worked non-stop. “Tammy Sue Bakker has held this vision all along and made sure it came to pass.  With the amazing help from our forewoman, Daina Martin and her incredible staff this beautiful home has been made possible!

Lori took a special moment to honor her mother, Char Graham.  “ You truly are the queen of my life.  Jesus is my King and my rock but my Mom has been my rock as well. Her prayers for me when I wasn’t living for God brought me through to Him and her prayers have not stopped.  There is a special place for you in heaven and I am so proud to have you as my mom! “

Lori’s house has been a ministry close to Lori’s heart.  “One of the great joys of my life is mentoring.  Moments where I can speak into another woman the love of God and the healing that can be found there. We are going to see amazing journeys.. not only are we saving babies and their brave young mothers,  but we will be witnessing post abortive women being healed through ‘Mourning to Joy!’  We will be training up true women of God!”

Before stepping up to cut the ribbon with Lori and their granddaughter Olivia, Pastor spoke to the crowd.  “God has His hands on this ministry.  We pray for all of you every day! We pray for our employees and the staff of Lori’s House.  We pray for our volunteers and for our supporters!  God has set you apart for a worldwide ministry that nobody else is doing and we stand together as one!” he declared.  “ Children are our heritage.  We dedicate Lori’s House to the Glory of God!”

Morningside Smiles and Welcomes Bobby Conner!

Where Bobby Conner goes, joy in the Lord follows.  This past Friday night, here at Morningside, Bobby gave the prophetic Word on Hope.  “What a difference a day makes!”  he smiled.  “The Lord told me to tell His people to war against the raging cloud of doubt.  Doubt is deadly!  Hang on to hope because one day can make a difference in your world!”

Pastor Conner remarked that through his years in ministry he always has people ask him, “Do you have any advice?”   “Well… YES  I have some advice… some good advice…Live your life with swift and complete obedience!  The happiest people on the planet are obedient to God!  The most miserable people I know are Christians trying to live like they are lost!  Be SINGLE MINDED in your love for God!”

Everyone at Morningside truly does rejoice in hearing the Word from Pastor Bobby Conner!  His Love of Jesus is so apparent that it shines through with his smile. That love came through while telling the story of Mark 5 when Jesus cast the demons from a man in the area of Gerasene.  This man was completely mad with demons who had possessed him and had to live in a cave because people were so frightened of him.  Jesus cast out the demons in two thousand pigs that promptly rushed down the hill and drown.  When the people came to see Jesus they saw this man perfectly healed and happy.  The townspeople asked Jesus to leave out of fear and the fact that they had lost two thousand pigs, and when Jesus was leaving the healed man asked him if he could go with Jesus.  Christ told him that He wanted him to go out and tell all he met about how God had healed him.

“This man woke up that morning a maniac and went to bed a missionary,  ah yes…what a difference a day makes!”

Thank you Bobby Conner!

Staying the Course with Bishop Ron Webb

Thursday July 2nd, Morningside had a breakthrough night as Bishop Ron Webb preached the grace and blessings of God!  This 4th of July week has been focused on spiritual warfare and remembering that the greater the attack the greater are God’s blessings for you!

“Stay the Course!”  Bishop Webb encouraged, “I know you are hurting! You are at the point of falling apart but God is able to hold you together!  Above all you ask or think, the power is in you!  You are going to live through everything the devil threw at you!”

“David’s life depicts warfare”  Bishop reminded the crowd, “ David wore many different mantles.  He was a musician, songwriter, King and warrior but above all that, David was a worshiper.  Worshipers know how to grab the heart of God. Worshipers ALWAYS win! “

The evening was filled with praise and worship as those in the audience let go of the battles in their life and gave them to God.  “Some of you are in the same place as David was in, fighting battle after battle. But I am here to remind you that you have survived it all and you are here to show EVERYONE the Glory of GOD!  Stay the course!”

Revival Rocks Morningside with Pastor John Kilpatrick

Pastor John Kilpatrick knows revival!  In the spirit-led, Wednesday night service on Grace Street, Pastor Kilpatrick shared God’s Word on His Blessings and the spiritual attacks that will most likely take place before them.

“So many are going through some really hard stuff,” he began in his riveting sermon.   When the devil attacks you, he wants you to get offended with God!”

Explaining to the crowd that it is right before an amazing blessing from God that the devil will attack.

“The devil will only stir against you when he sees that something significant is going to happen to you”, Pastor Kilpatrick advised, “Hunker down, hang on and wait for what God has in store for you!  Even Satan knows that he cannot stop the blessings that God has in store for you but, he can try to spoil it!”

This inspirational service brought the message of spiritual attack to light, bringing hope of the inevitable blessings and calling on all of our lives.

“I realize that when an attack ends I will be stronger, more effective and more resourceful in the kingdom than ever before. Don’t hold on to the trial.  It may be a week or a month or maybe even a year but every trial has a shelf life .  When it’s over, it’s OVER!”

“You got what you needed tonight!” exclaimed Pastor Jim as the service came to a close. “Miracles are going to happen.  God has something so special for us!  Your deliverance came tonight.  Can you feel it?”

The spirit of revival is indeed at Morningside!   AMEN!

BOOM! There It Is! – The Journey Continues

It had not even been a year yet since I was saved and God was doing quick work!  I had spent my summer devoted to finding the path and following the calling that God was bringing into my life.  And now it was my senior year of high school.   I knew that God had called me to Christian television and media.  I had no idea what that was going to look like. My mind was incredibly busy with trying to set things up, finding the next step.  God hadn’t given me particular answers quite yet so I was going to try to fill the empty holes with answers the best way I knew how.

I knew that God had called me to be a part of revolutionizing Christian television and Christian media for this generation.  But there were certain things I didn’t know.  I didn’t know the logistics of how it was that this was going to come about.  I decided I was going to go to a Christian college and get my pastoral license and I would take a lot of classes in media and television as well.  That seemed to me to be the most logical thing I could possibly do.
