Dr.Kermit Gosnell, the head of the abortion house of horrors in West Philadelphia, chose not to testify or call any witnesses in his defense on charges of murdering babies born alive in his clinic.

The judge in the case of Dr. Kermit Gosnell has thrown out three of the eight murder charges, granting defense motions regarding insufficient evidence.
The defense motions to acquit after the prosecution presents a case is common but rarely granted. Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Minehart did not explain why he granted the motions. The dismissals were on three counts where the defense claimed the prosecution could not show the babies were alive when born despite testimony from multiple staffers to that effect. A witness in the Philadelphia Abortion House of Horrors trial testified that she saw the chests of babies moving and heard them making noises before Dr. Kermit Gosnell killed them.
Kareema Cross, the final prosecution witness, testified that she personally saw 10 babies breathe before they were killed. She also said that she saw three babies “move their arms and legs” and heard a fourth baby give out a soft whine before Gosnell killed them. The daughter of a woman who died because of injuries sustained in Dr. Kermit ’s clinic in Philadelphia testified that her mother had lost consciousness and that clinic staff kept her from attending to her mom.
Karnamaya Mongar, 42, a survivor of 20 months in a refugee camp in Bhutan, died after some unlicensed member of Gosnell’s staff provided her with a fatal combination of oral and intravenous drugs. Continue reading →
