A naturalized U.S. citizen has been arrested in Oregon over charges of helping Al-Qaeda execute a bombing in Pakistan.
Reaz Qadir Khan had pled not guilty to charged of giving “material support” to one of the terrorists who bombed the Pakistani Intelligence Service in Lahore in 2009. At least 30 people were killed and 300 injured in the homicide bombing. Continue reading
Miami Islamic Cleric Convicted Of Supporting Taliban
A Muslim cleric who is was the imam of a downtown Miami mosque has been convicted of sending tens of thousands of dollars to the Taliban in Pakistan.
77-year-old Hafiz Khan has been convicted on two counts of conspiracy and two counts of providing material support to terrorists. Each charge has a maximum 15-year prison term. Khan will be sentenced May 30. Continue reading

A bombing at a vegetable market in Quetta, Pakistan has killed 81 people.
The attack left more than 180 others injured and the death toll is likely to rise as many wounded are in critical condition. Many victims are also buried in the rubble of the building. Continue reading

A bombing at a marketplace has killed at least six people in northern Pakistan.
Government officials say that dozens were also wounded in the attack in the Orakzai tribal region. The blast occurred close to government buildings but also near a group of anti-Taliban tribal members. A homicide bomber detonated a motorcycle full of explosives outside a mosque in Hangu, killing 21 and injuring dozens.

A drive to eliminate polio in Pakistan has been stopped after the Taliban executed five women who had been administering the vaccine in Karachi.
