Taliban Homicide Bomber Attacks Funeral

A homicide bomber attacked a funeral in eastern Afghanistan killing at least 25 civilians and the son of a district governor.

The mourners were attending a funeral for an influential tribal elder in the border district of Dur Baba. The homicide bomber infiltrated the parade of mourners before detonating his device.

Terrorists Kill Dozens In Afghanistan

A series of bombings targeting Muslims preparing for the end of Ramadan have killed at least 42 and wounded 130.

The attacks struck at opposite ends of the country and were clearly aimed at civilians.

Four homicide bombers killed 30 in the market areas of the city of Zaranj. Intelligence officials in Zaranj told the BBC that they have arrested several other homicide bombers and said as many at 14 may be in the city. Al-Qaeda Kills 45 In Yemen

Yemeni government officials announced that al-Qaeda is responsible for a homicide bombing this weekend that killed 45 people and injured dozens.

The homicide bomber walked into a funeral in the city of Jaar and detonated his explosive belt. The service was conducted by a group of tribal militiamen who have supported the Yemeni military in their attempts to eliminate al-Qaeda in the nation. Continue reading

Homicide Bomber Kills Six In Yemen

A homicide bomber attacked the police academy in the capital of Yemen killing six and injuring dozens.

Islamic militants in the country have been vowing to continue a campaign of terror in what they term “retaliation” for the military destroying terrorist strongholds. Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda affiliate based in the Arabian Peninsula, claimed responsibility for the murders. Continue reading

Series of Bombings Kill 25 In Iraq

A truck bombing in the Iraqi city of Diwaniya has killed at least 25 people and wounded 40 more on a day where bomb attacks spread throughout the country.

The bombing appeared to be aimed at Shia Muslims who were gathering at a market near a mosque for a pilgrimage to Karbala. The Shia community is celebrating the anniversary of the birth of a revered Imam.
