Boko Haram On Killing Spree of Christians

While the international community has been focused on a group of almost 300 girls kidnapped by the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram, the same terrorists have quietly been conducting a killing spree of Christians in northern Nigeria.

The terrorists killed at least 29 Christians in the last two days in assaults on both churches and Christian communities in Borno state.

At least 21 people are dead from an attack on the Church of Christ in Nations church in Gwoza.  The church was in the middle of a worship service when the Islamic terrorist invaded and began to systematically gun down anyone inside the sanctuary.  Rev. Moses Thliza of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria in the same village said that several dozen were injured and the death toll is likely to rise.

The next day, the terrorists attacked several Christian villages.  At least six churches were burned to the ground, eight Christians killed and several dozen seriously wounded.  One Christian leader said the number of burned homes of Christians could not be counted.

Pope Francis Says Families Are Under Attack

Pope Francis told a crowd at a Rome stadium that Satan is attacking the family.

The Pope was holding a special mass and rally at Olympic Stadium in Rome that featured over 50,000 people raising their hands and praying in unison for the Pontiff who has repeatedly asked the public to pray for him since assuming the office.

Pope Francis said that the family was the “domestic church” and that Satan would love nothing more than to destroy the stability of the family.  He announced that he will have bishops from around the world to the Vatican in October to discuss ways the church can help rebuild and reinforce the families of the church.

The Pope also brought a lighthearted moment to the event when he shared a story about his early days as an archbishop in Buenos Aires.  He said that he didn’t “share” the way charismatic Catholics prayed there, dancing and singing, but later realized the “charismatic renewal is a great force.”  He said that he thought the actions of the charismatics reminded him of salsa dancing.

Two Major Anti-Semitic Attacks In Europe

Four people are dead and two injured after a pair of anti-semitic attacks in Europe.

The deadly attack came in Brussels, Belgium, where a gunman walked into a Jewish museum and opened fire.  The gunman reportedly double parked his car outside the museum, casually strolled inside and opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle.

The gunman had clearly been planning the attack according to police officials who saw the security footage.  The gunman walked in and out within a minute, obviously executing some kind of timed attack.  Witnesses say the gunman jogged to his car and causally pulled away.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack but the terrorism alert level in Belgium has been raised because of the assault.

Hours later in Paris, two Jewish youths leaving a service at a synagogue were attacked by men on bikes.  The 21-year-old and 18-year-old brothers were beaten heavily with brass knuckles and are hospitalized in serious condition but are believed to make a full recovery.

Rocket Barrage Takes It’s Toll on Israeli Citizens

Israelis ran for the safety of bomb shelters on Wednesday when Islamic Jihad fired over 40 rockets into southern Israel. Then they sought shelter gain Thursday morning when sirens alerted them of another rocket attack.

The attacks couldn’t come at a worse time for Israeli citizens who had been partaking in festivities leading up to Purim, a Jewish holiday with carnival-like traditions. Fairs and parties have been held all over the country before the holiday starts on Sunday night.

Terri Davis, a resident of Ashkelon located near the Israel/Gaza border, stated how difficult it was for her and her preschool students during the attack.

“When we heard the sirens, 70 children and 15 adults crowded into the shelter,” she said. “The children, who were dressed in costumes, had been happy and singing when the siren went off, and I saw panic in their eyes. But the teachers and soldiers who had come for the party kept the children calm, singing and dancing.”

Other difficulties for the residents near the Gaza border included not being warned about the first round of attacks. Adele Raemar who lives a mile from the Gaza border only took shelter after he heard an explosion.

“There was no warning, no red alert,” Raemer said, referring to the system that warns residents near the border of imminent attack. “The windows shook. My son and I and our two dogs ran into my shelter.”

Although tensions are high between Israel and Gaza, Raemer felt compassion for the Gaza families who lived near the border.

“I’m sure the man on the street in Gaza just wants to put bread on his table and have his kids go to school and come home safely,” Raemer said. “Unfortunately, the people of Gaza haven’t been able to [stop] the Iranian-backed organizations that are making their lives as miserable, if not more miserable, than ours.”

Strikes Fired Between Gaza Militant and Israel Despite “Truce”

Gaza militants continued firing at Israel on Thursday despite a supposed truce that had been formed.

According to Islamic Jihad’s leader in Gaza, Egypt had helped the militants resume a ceasefire agreement from 2012. Israel did not confirm this.

Eight more rockets were fired into Israel on Thursday. Israel retaliated by striking seven “terror sites” in Gaza.

No Israeli casualties were reported Thursday. Witnesses stated that three Palestinians were wounded, but did not confirm if they were civilians or militants.

Rockets Fired Into Israel

Gaza militants fired more than 40 rockets within two hours into southern Israel on Wednesday making this the largest rocket barrage to hit Israel since 2012 according to the Israeli military.

Only three of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s “Iron Dome” while eight hit populated areas. The rest fell in open areas.

The Islamic Jihad militant group behind the attack wanted vengeance for three of their members who were killed in an Israeli airstrike the day before. Additional Gaza militant groups also joined in on the attack including the Popular Resistance Group.

In retaliation to the attack, the Israeli air-force attacked several Jihad training camps.

“This retaliation was precise and prompt. We targeted the infrastructure that serves the terrorists while they train, plan and implement their hideous attacks. They will not be permitted to conspire in the safety of their terrorist temples,” Israeli Military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to continue the retaliation.

“We will continue to thwart (rocket attacks) and hit those that want to harm us, and we will act against them with great force,” Netanyahu said. “Last year, the number of rockets fired from Gaza was the lowest in a decade but that is not enough. We will continue to act to ensure the security of the citizens of Israel in the south and in the entire country.”

So far in 2014, Gaza militants have fired 32 rockets toward Israel before Wednesday’s attack.

No casualties were reported on either side Wednesday.

Boko Haram Kills Students In Nigeria

An surprise terror attack on a school just before dawn has left at least 29 children dead.

Nigerian military spokesman said Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram targeted the school before dawn so they could kill as many children as possible before they realized they were under attack.

A teacher in the school told reporters that the terrorists set fire to a boy’s dormitory and then stood by any window that did not have bars in front of it to slit the throats of any student who tried to escape the flames.

Spokesman Abdullahi Bego said he could not tell why the school was left unprotected by government troops and that the state’s Governor would ask the federal government why they were not there.  Students and teachers quickly abandoned another school in the state after military troops withdrew their protection Monday.

New Details Raise Concerns In California Power Station Attack

The FBI continues to deny the attack on a Pacific Gas and Electric substation in Santa Clara County, California was the work of terrorists despite the slow leaks of more disturbing details about the April 16th attack surface in various news outlets.

The Los Angeles Times reports the attack was “military style” and that whoever conducted the assault knew the layout of the area, locations of security devices and how to avoid being identified on camera.

At least two of the attackers knew exactly which manhole covers to remove to access an underground vault where they used heavy wire cutters to disconnect fiber optic cables.

Also, the snipers used rounds that caused the transformers to only leak oil and be disabled without exploding, avoiding unnecessary attention to the site until they were done disabling 17 transformers.  Video of the shooters, stationed 40 yards away from the site, showed only muzzle flashes and at no point did it show any attacker’s face.

The attack was also the night after the Boston Marathon bombings, leading some to wonder if there was a connection between the two incidents.

One legislator is saying what the FBI is not.  Representative Zoe Lofgren of San Jose told Fox News that the attack on the station was performed by “pros.”

Obama Administration Files Federal Hate Crime Charge Against White Man

The Obama administration has filed a federal hate-crimes charge against a white man accused of targeting a black man for a “knockout game” attack.

The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout game” case after multiple reports of African Americans targeting whites and Jews.

“Suspected crimes of this nature will simply not be tolerated,” said Kenneth Magidson, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Texas. “Evidence of hate crimes will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted with the assistance of all our partners to the fullest extent of the law.”

Conrad Alvin Barrett, 27, reportedly attacked a 79-year-old black man in Fulshear, Texas. Justice Department officials said they brought the case because they wanted to make a point about hate crimes.

Barrett reportedly videotaped himself beating the black man and then showed it to people in a restaurant. One of the people was an off-duty peace officer. The victim suffered lost teeth and a broken jaw.

70 Injured In Piranha Attack

A school of piranha attacked hundreds of people bathing in an Argentina river, including seven children who lost parts of their bodies.

The bathers were attempting to keep cool in 100-degree temperatures in the Parana River on Wednesday when bathers began to complain of bite marks.

The attack was blamed on a feeding frenzy of Palometas. The fish are a type of piranha described as “big, voracious with sharp teeth.” A media official described the attack as “very aggressive”.

Paramedics told media that children lost entire fingers and toes.

Wildlife officials attributed the attack to the high temperatures heating the water and leading the fish to remain close to the surface.
