Jim and I and our entire family are still basking in the glow of the ministry that took place here at Morningside this past week during the Fourth of July Celebration. We know that all who were here and all who will see these broadcasts will feel the same way.
When something of this magnitude takes place in the Spirit, you can be certain that it will change you! That’s the wonder of God’s Holy Spirit – the transforming, empowering, emblazoned mark on the hearts of those who receive it! READ MORE →
I don’t even know how to explain this except to say that I’m so hungry for God it hurts! Have you ever experienced that kind of hunger? Deep down inside, you know that nothing can satisfy you except the REAL THING! You’re not satisfied with pretending, or a glorified imitation, or even the hype of emotionalism. You want the REAL THING! READ MORE →
When Jim and I married, we had both lived a long time on this earth and a lot of history had been written in our lives before we came together as husband and wife. So, there was much to learn about each other!
As with most people when they fall in love and begin to realize they are moving toward a life-long commitment, we would sometimes talk into the night – hour upon hour – just trying to ‘get to know’ one another. The truth is, we are still learning! READ MORE →
Our country desperately needs revival. Even the Church needs to be revived again because large parts have become salt-less and lost its ‘flavor’ as the Bible says in Matthew 5:13:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
Every aspect of our society seems bent on the destruction of all that the Bible stands for – and all that God commands. We have a great opportunity in this age to be the salt of the earth by being bold and speaking the truth in love. That’s what we are trying to do daily on our show. READ MORE →
A profound statement I have often used is “it’s not your ability God is looking for, it’s your availability”.
Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
In my testimony, I tell people about how I was delivered from a wasted life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll. In the beginning of my Christian walk, I often wondered about my life’s purpose and just how I could be used by God. I knew He had saved me and healed me for a reason. I knew in my heart that my testimony was important to encourage others who were still caught in that kind of life. READ MORE →
I thought I would get your attention with that title, but it’s a true statement! I am very defensive! That is… I am a defender of Jim particularly (and other family members, especially my kids); I am a defender of women; I am a defender of God!
I can completely relate to Sarah Palin when she said she was a “momma grizzly bear.” I think the instinct to defend our children is in most of us as Mothers. If it’s not, there’s something broken inside!
Defending those we love is an honorable character trait, don’t you think? Jesus is our defender and He is passionate about it! READ MORE →
Whether it’s just a casual “how are you?” or a heartfelt, “sit down and tell me what’s going on in your life,” or a caring comment on Facebook… friends can bring you great joy and comfort.
Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves you all the time, and a brother helps in time of trouble.” That goes for sisters, too!
There are many people who know Jim and me because we are public figures, and more and more of them are becoming closer to us as we experience the signs of Revelation. I have had people write in and tell us that we are their “family” and I have to tell you, that really touches my heart and we feel the same way. READ MORE →
We have just experienced an awful couple of days here in Missouri and most of the “heartland” of the nation with storms and deadly tornados. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families who have lost loved ones.
Sometimes when things like this happen, we will try to make sense of it all. But, as Christians, we must submit our quest to understand the ‘whys,’ to our FAITH which always comforts and consoles us, whether we understand or not.
Faith is rooted in the deepest and simplest belief that our God is good, and His love endures forever. This truth is found throughout the Bible but mostly in the Psalms, which most scholars believe were predominantly written by King David – whom God says was “a man after my own heart.” READ MORE →
You know, it’s fairly easy to follow the “deception leads to depression” truth. There are many false teachings that have lead people astray and when they find out that what they have been taught just DOES NOT WORK, they are devastated.
Take, for example, the false prosperity teachings. Jim calls them “love of money” teachings. Most of these are based on a formula of sowing and reaping, e.g. sowing money equals reaping money. But this teaching has been taken so out of context and when people eventually find out that their giving should not be tied to monetary gain, they are often angry at first, and then depressed. Why? Because they have been schooled in the teaching that if they give money, they will reap money…. And not just what they have sowed, but a 30, 60 or 100 fold return! Do you think there’s a little greed in there!? READ MORE →
I’m pretty sure that most people are feeling the pressure of a world gone wild, especially those who are a little older and can remember a safer, more stable world of a few decades ago. I know that what I’m seeing happen around the world in social issues, weather related events, global unrest and violence and the general hostile climate of our world is the stuff that makes people crazy and causes some to lose hope.
And, if our hope was only in this world, we may as well lose it. READ MORE →
