Ted Cruz’s Speech ~ Rick Joyner’s thoughts

“TED CRUZ’S SPEECH WAS A SHINING EXAMPLE OF WHY SO MANY LOVED HIM, AND WHY SO MANY DON’T TRUST HIM.

He articulated the issues as well as anyone has, powerfully, eloquently, and with a passion I for one believe he is sincere. Trump endorsed Cruz and his beliefs by giving him the platform to speak at the RNC. For Cruz not to have endorsed Trump will fortify to many that he still has ulterior, selfish motives, and is more concerned about running again in four years than he is for his country, and for the principles he espoused. How many times did he say during the campaign that we don’t have four more years? How many times did we hear him say that the SCOTUS will be changed for a generation at least by the next president? To me his speech tonight was like the baseball hit that looks like the home run that will win the game right until the end, but then it curves and is a just a long foul ball that only brings disappointment. I’m just sayin…”  

A few hours later, Pastor Rick added an additional post for his Facebook followers:  

“By the responses to the Ted Cruz speech, both the boos at the end of it at the RNC, and the responses on SM, Ted may have blown his chance for a future run tonight. I think all of the candidates who stepped forward in the first debate and said they would support the Republican nominee, and have failed to do so, have all cost themselves a place of future leadership in the party or the country. Trump was the only one who did not step forward that night because he was not going to be pressured by the media to take such a vow, and wanted to know who the candidate was. He was at least honest, and most of the others have kept their word too, but those who didn’t it will be hard to trust again.

For Gov. Kaisch to not even attend the RNC held in his own state is an offense to all Republicans. He too made the vow, but obviously he and the establishment politicians of the old order believe you can say anything just to get elected, but don’t have to actually keep your word. Jeb Bush was a boring candidate, but he was liked, and trusted, until he too failed to keep his word.

What did Ted mean tonight with “vote your conscience.” According to his own principles that he ran on, Trump is the only one he could vote for if he did that, so why wouldn’t he say that? This could have been a big night for Ted, and a huge boost for the GOP, but I think it could now be the night that killed his future.

I’m grieved because I think Ted was one of the strongest potential future leaders, especially with some executive experience in a Trump cabinet. Even so, going back to the grace we talked about earlier, I have resolved not to give up on anyone if they can still fog a mirror. The power of the cross is greater than our failures. Even so, people are not so quick to forgive and trust, so it is going to take a miracle for people’s trust to be restored in Ted after tonight.”

 

Ted Cruz Declares Bold Faith in Christ

While most of the nation focused on the fact Texas Senator Ted Cruz officially announced his candidacy for President in 2016, several people noticed the bold faith expressed by the Senator in his speech announcing the move.

Much of the speech consisted of Cruz saying that God was not done with America and that God has blessed America for years.

“God’s blessing has been on America from the very beginning of this nation, and I believe God isn’t done with America yet,” he said. “I believe in you. I believe in the power of millions of courageous conservatives rising up to reignite the promise of America, and that is why today I am announcing that I’m running for president of the United States.”

Cruz shared how God reached his father after he had left his mother and brought him home to be a Godly man.

“When I was three, my father decided to leave my mother and me,” he said. “We were living in Calgary at the time. He got on a plane and he flew back to Texas, and he decided he didn’t want to be married anymore and he didn’t want to be a father to his three-year-old son.”

“And yet when he was in Houston, a friend, a colleague from the oil and gas business, invited him to a Bible study— invited him to Clay Road Baptist Church—and there my father gave his life to Jesus Christ,” Cruz continued. “And God transformed his heart. And he drove to the airport, he bought a plane ticket, and he flew back to be with my mother and me.”

Cruz said that because of God moving in his father’s life, he knows Christ is real.

“There are people who wonder if faith is real,” Cruz said. “I can tell you, in my family there’s not a second of doubt, because were it not for the transformative love of Jesus Christ, I would have been saved and I would have been raised by a single mom without my father in the household.”

 

American Christianity Under Threat Say Star Spangled Speakers

A group of speakers at an event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner says that American Christianity is under serious threat.

The event, held at First Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, featured speakers like former Gov. Mike Huckabee, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and his father, Family Research Center head Tony Perkins and other leaders.  The event was to celebrate the importance of Christianity in the national anthem and the importance of Christianity in American history.

Senator Cruz said that religious liberty is endangered not just abroad but at home.

“If you’re litigating against nuns,” Cruz said, referring to the struggle of Little Sisters of the Poor against the Obama administration’s contraception mandate, “you’ve probably done something wrong.”

“Our land needs healing,” Cruz continued. “When this country was founded, it was founded on the radical concept that our rights don’t come from kings, queens or governments, but our rights come from Almighty God.”

Former Gov. Huckabee said that Christians shouldn’t just accept that our government is ungodly.

“Is it time for us to stop complaining about what is, and start believing what will be if God’s people on their faces in humility and brokenness will once again ask for His hand of providence to envelope this great land of ours,” he said.

Senator Booed From Stage After Supporting Israel at “Christian” Conference

A Senator speaking at an event that was alleged to be a gathering of Middle East Christians and their supporters left the stage after being booed for his support of Israel.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz was on the list of speakers for the inaugural “In Defense of Christians” event in Washington, D.C.  Cruz was scheduled to speak to the crowd on Wednesday night as part of a series of speakers discussing the need for unity to stand against Islamic terrorism in the region.

However, Cruz was met with boos and harassment when he mentioned Israel.

“Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” Cruz said in his keynote address.  Immediately, many Middle Eastern representatives in the crowd started yelling derogatory statements about Cruz and Israel.

“If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews,” Cruz said before leaving the podium, “I will not stand with you.”

The organization behind the event released a statement saying those in attendance who disrupted Cruz did not adhere to the principles of the organization.

“Tonight’s injection of politics when the focus should have been on unity and faith, momentarily played into the hands of a few who do not adhere to IDC’s principles,” stated In Defense of Christians President Toufic Baaklini.  “Tonight’s events make clearer than ever, that In Defense of Christians is desperately needed in a world that remains divided to the point where even the most fundamental value of life and human dignity are cast aside.”
