Terrorists Kill 70 In Attack on Kenyan College

A group of masked terrorists have killed at least 70 people and taken hostages after attacking Garissa University in Kenya.

The Islamic extremist group Al-Shabaab claimed the assault and said they were targeting the Christians at the school.

“We sorted people out and released the Muslims,” said terrorist spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab.  “There are many dead bodies of Christians inside the building. We are also holding many Christians alive. Fighting still goes on inside the college.”

Witnesses say that the terrorists had snipers on top of buildings to shoot those who were fleeing the dormitories during the attack.  Soldiers reportedly ordered the students to dive for cover as they escaped the building.

The terrorists say they are also holding a number of female Christians alive as hostages.

The vice chariman of the student union told Fox News that the gunmen were asking people about their faith.

“If you were a Christian you were shot on the spot,” he said. “With each blast of the gun I thought I was going to die.”

The terrorist group has targeted Kenya after that nation contributed forces to the African Union that drove Al-Shabaab from major cities in Somalia.

Ferguson Protesters Shoot Two Police Officers

Two police officers were shot early Thursday morning outside the Ferguson, Missouri police department.

Police described the attack as “an ambush” and that either officer could have been easily killed in the attack.  One officer was hit in the face below the right eye and the other officer was hit in the shoulder.  Both are expected to recover with any long-term damage.

However, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar focused on the fact the officers could have been killed.

“We could have buried two police officers next week over this,” he said.

Belmar said the shots came from about 120 yards away and were clearly aimed at the police.

“This is really an ambush,” he said. “You are basically defenseless. It is hard to guard against.”

Witnesses say there was no warning before the attack.

“I saw the officer go down and the other police officers drew their guns while other officers dragged the injured officer away,” protester Marciay Pitchford said. “All of a sudden everybody started running or dropping to the ground.”

The crowd was protesting following the announcement that the police chief of Ferguson was resigning after a Justice Department report regarding problems within the Ferguson P.D.

Denmark Police Kill Terrorist After Dual Attacks

Police in Copenhagen, Denmark have killed a terrorist who carried out two attacks on Saturday that left two dead and four wounded.

The first attack struck at the Krudttoenden café in Osterbro during an event featuring an artist who created paintings of Muhammad.  The event, “Art, Blasphemy and Freedom of Expression,” was to include discussion of Islam and the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo.

Police say the terrorist gunman shot over 200 rounds of ammunition into the café from the street.  A 40-year-old man in attendance was killed and two police officers were wounded.

“Denmark has today been hit by a cynical act of violence,” Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt stated following the incident. “Everything suggests that the shooting in Osterbro was a political assassination and thus an act of terrorism.”

The gunman fled but later opened fire near a synagogue in the Krystalgade area.  A guard was killed and two bystanders were injured.

Danish police found the gunman at a train station in Norrebro.  He was shot by police after he pulled a gun and moved to open fire on officers.

Charlie Hebdo Attackers and 4 Hostages Dead

After an intense crossfire French police have confirmed that the men responsible for Wednesday’s Charlie Hebdo attack and Friday’s hostage situations are dead.

Cherif Kouachi, 32, and Said Kouachi, 34, were killed by police in a shootout hours after taking at least one hostage in a local printing business located in a town 30 minutes northeast of Paris, France. The hostage has been freed, but there have been no official reports to the hostage’s condition at this time.

Police also stormed a kosher grocery store located in Paris where Amedi Coulibaly, 32, was killed in a brutal shootout with police. Coulibaly was an associate of the Kouachi brothers. Although Coulibaly was a known associate of the terrorist brothers, there have been no official reports that the attacks were coordinated.

Hostages at the supermarket were freed, but reports have confirmed that four of the hostages were dead. There are no details at this time regarding how they were killed.

 

CNN: Charlie Hebdo attack: 2 intense standoffs in France

Two intense standoffs with gunmen were underway in and around Paris early Friday afternoon — one involving the two brothers wanted in the Charlie Hebdo massacre and the other a hostage situation at a kosher grocery store.

It was not immediately known if or how the two situations were related, but both underscored France’s days-long nightmare and anti-terrorism fight.

The latest unfolded near Porte de Vincennes in eastern Paris, where the city prosecutor’s office reported a shooting and hostage situation early Friday afternoon. Police anti-terror units raced to the scene, while ambulances blared as they moved away from it.

Terrorists Attack French Newspaper; 12 Dead

Terrorists attacked a French newspaper on Wednesday, leaving 12 people dead and at least 4 others in critical condition in Paris hospitals.

Officials say that police officers were killed along with members of the Charlie Hebdo newspaper staff as the gunmen fled the scene of the attack.

The newspaper had been the subject of hatred from Muslims because of cartoons that mocked Islam and the prophet Mohammed.  The gunman who attacked the newspaper today were shouting “allahu akbar” and also “we have avenged the prophet.”

“We heard shouting in the street,” Benoît Bringer, who works at a press agency on the same floor as the magazine’s offices, told France Info radio. “We saw hooded men carrying Kalashnikovs entering the building. We called the police. After a few minutes we heard heavy firing – a lot of firing, a hell of a lot. We went upstairs to take shelter on the roof. Then after about 10 minutes we saw two armed men come out onto the street. There was more shouting, more firing.”

“Three policemen had arrived on bikes but had to leave because the men were armed, obviously … Then the attackers took off in a car.”

A woman told L’Humanite newspaper that she had been forced at gunpoint to let the terrorists in the building:

“I had gone to pick up my daughter from daycare. Arriving at the door of the newspaper building, two hooded and armed men brutally threatened us.  They wanted to enter, go up. I typed the code. They shot Wolinski, Cabu … it lasted five minutes … I had taken refuge under a desk … They spoke French perfectly … claiming to be Al-Qaeda.”

President Obama condemned the attack.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attack and the people of France at this difficult time,” the statement reads. “France is America’s oldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in the fight against terrorists who threaten our shared security and the world. Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended. France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageous attack took place, offer the world a timeless example that will endure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers. We are in touch with French officials and I have directed my Administration to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice.”

Thousands of police and French troops are conducting a manhunt for the three terrorists who carried out the attack.

Gunmen Attack French Satirical Magazine

Twelve people are confirmed dead and several more are injured after three gunmen stormed the Paris office of a French satirical magazine known as Charlie Hebdo.

Witnesses reported seeing the masked gunmen enter the main entrance and open fire. Afterward, the gunmen took to the streets, killing police officers, and finally getting away in a black car.

French officials have labeled the attack as “an act of terrorism” and are raising the terror threat level. Security has been increased for media organizations, large stores, and places of worship.

“We will find the people who did this,” French President Francois Hollande stated. “France is today shocked by this terrorist attack.”

President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron have shown their support for France by offering to provide assistance in catching the terrorists.

According to law enforcement, two police officers and four of the publication’s cartoonists are among the dead.

Armed Black Teenager Shot After Pulling Gun On White Officer

An 18-year-old black teenager who pulled a gun on police officers was shot and killed in the St. Louis area.  Protesters descended on the scene immediately after the shooting and proceeded to clash with police.

St. Louis County PD said that a police officer conducting a routine check on a Mobil gas station at 11:15 p.m. saw two men outside the store and approached them.  Antonio Martin pulled a gun on the officer and was shot by the officer.

The protesters that stormed the scene attacked police officers, threw some kind of explosive device at the police and also tried to burn down a QuikTrip store.  Four people were arrested in the assault on the officers.

Police say Martin had a criminal record that included three assaults, armed robbery, armed criminal action and multiple weapons violations.

The family of Antonio Martin is claiming that he wasn’t with another man but with his girlfriend and that he didn’t have a gun despite the evidence that shows otherwise.  A 9 mm handgun with the serial number filed off was found next to the body of Martin.  A video of the incident showed Martin pointing the gun at the officer.

“When he was around me, he knew to do right,” Margret Chandler, Martin’s grandmother, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Why would he pull out a gun against the police? That’s the thing I don’t get. It just doesn’t add up.”

NYPD Officers Ambushed By Protester

A man who was protesting and seeking revenge for Michael Brown and Eric Garner ambushed two police officers in their cruiser on Saturday, shooting them before killing himself after he was trapped in a subway.

Ismaaiyl Abdulla Brinsley walked up from behind the cruiser containing Officers Wenjin Liu and Raphael Ramos, dropped into a shooting stance at the passenger side window and opened fire.  The officers did not even have time to pull their weapons before they were fatally struck.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters at a press conference that the gunman had shot his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore in the morning before driving to New York.

Brinsley had posted online that he was going to be “putting wings on pigs” today.  He added “They take 1 of ours.  Let’s take 2 of theirs. #ShootThePolice #RIPEricGardner #RIPMikeBrown”

His last post said “This may be my final post.  I’m putting pigs in a blanket.”

Baltimore police were alerted by the ex-girlfriend’s mother of the murderer’s intentions but the message did not reach the NYPD until after the killing.

Congress Declares Fort Hood Attack Terrorism

Congress is preparing to announce that the victims of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting will have been victims of a terrorist attack.

The Obama administration had been denying the incident where Major Nidal Hasan was an act of workplace violence despite the fact Hasan had indicated he was making an act of Islamist terrorism.

House Republicans worked with members of the Democrat-controlled Senate Armed Services committee to put a provision in a defense authorization bill that will acknowledge the victims of Fort Hood are terrorist victims, making them eligible for Purple Hearts and for assistance awards to victims of terrorist actions.

The new language inserted by the members of Congress states that Purple Heart medals can be awarded to “members of the armed forces killed or wounded in domestic attacks inspired by foreign terrorist organizations.”

Hasan killed 13 and wounded 32 in his terror attack.  Hasan had e-mail exchanged with Anwar al-Awlaki, a top al-Qaeda leader, who helped plan the attack.  Hasan had tried multiple times to become an official member of al-Qaeda.

Still, the Obama administration continues to deny that Hasan’s actions were terrorist in nature.
