Trumpets are Sounding (Pt. 3)

Prophetic consensus from many sources is that the beginning of the Great Tribulation will be in 2015. John Shorey went through David Wilkerson’s and other prophecies about an economic collapse preceded by a great earthquake in the northwest. John said that considering the huge bubble in the stock market today, this economic collapse can’t be far off and he believes it could be this Fall – with the obvious indicator that a huge earthquake is even closer. If the dominos start to fall, everything could fall into place and happen very quickly – in less than six months!

John noted that on March 20th, 2015, a solar eclipse will happen which, prophetically speaking, indicates the judgment of the Gentile nations, which includes the United States of America. Three and one-half years after the Spring of 2015 (the possible beginning of the Great Tribulation), would be September of 2018… the week of the Feast of Trumpets and the 70th year from the rebirth of Israel in 1948! Something Big is About to Happen!

Lori and I want so much for people to be ready for anything and I know in my heart that something big is about to happen!

I’m not the only one feeling this way! When Pastor John Hagee was here with us recently he said, “I think the message that God is sending to His children is that the King is coming, get ready, get ready, get ready, the Son of God is about to appear in the clouds of Heaven and this world is soon to be over.” Both, Pastor Hagee and Pastor Mark Biltz are warning of major prophetic events surrounding the appearance of the ‘blood moons’ in conjunction with Israel’s Holy Feast Days.

The signs in the heavens couldn’t be any more apparent, marking major prophetic events which will become clear as we wait on the Lord. The message right now is to get ready! If the church gets ready now, we can minister with compassion to many more people – and perhaps lead them to Jesus. Continue reading

Major Food Recalls Due To Listeria Hit Midwest

If you purchased walnuts, hummus or dips in Missouri or Illinois between March and May 2014, you need to check some packaging.

Sherman Produce has announced an immediate recall of “Schnucks brand 10-ounce trays of walnuts” with the UPC code 00338390032 because the product could be contaminated with listeria.  The USDA detected listeria in walnuts that were sampled at the production facility.

Consumers are used to throw them away immediately or seek a refund.

Hot Mama’s Foods has recalled almost 15,000 pounds of hummus and dip products because of Listeria.   The items were sold at Target, Trader Joe’s and other retailers.

The listeria was discovered during a routine test by the Texas Department of Health.  Customers are advised not to eat the recalled products and return them to the place of purchase for a refund.  Customers can also call 1-877-550-0694 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Argentina Puts Government Freeze On Grocery Prices

In an attempt to control the runaway inflation crippling the country, Argentina has announced the government is banning any increases in the price of groceries.

A group that represents two thirds of the supermarkets in the nation agreed to freeze prices until at least April 1. The government has set up a hotline, asking citizens to keep their receipts and call the government if they notice any groceries have gone up in price. Continue reading

Haiti Faces Food Shortage Due to Hurricane Sandy

In the wake of 54 people being killed from Hurricane Sandy, Haiti is now looking at almost 1.5 million people going hungry in 2013 because of the storm’s damage.

The United Nations is reporting that a drought in the spring and summer coupled with the extensive damage to property and equipment caused by successive natural disasters have essentially wiped out farming in large parts of the nation. Continue reading

Food Shortages Feared In Haiti

The heavy rain and strong winds of Hurricane Sandy has devastated the crops of Haiti to the point aid workers are predicting a serious food shortage across the country.

Officials report that 70% of the nation’s crops were destroyed by the storm. Food shortages were already a concern but now that the banana, plantain and corn crops have been mostly wiped out a famine seems all but certain. Continue reading

Severe Weather Could Cause Major Hunger Crisis

“We are entering a new era of rising food prices and spreading hunger. Food supplies are tightening everywhere and land is becoming the most sought-after commodity as the world shifts from an age of food abundance to one of scarcity. The geopolitics of food is fast overshadowing the geopolitics of oil.”

Those chilling words from Lester Brown of the Earth policy research center in Washington come as the United Nations is reporting that grain reserves worldwide have reached such a critical point that extreme weather in the United States or other major food exporting nations next year could cause a major hunger crisis. Weather Impacts UK Harvest; Raises Food Prices

The summer of unusually wet weather has created a large impact on British crops that is going to lead to heavy increases in food prices.

The National Farmers Union announced that wheat yields in the country are down almost 15% lower than the country’s five-year average. The British Retail Consortium said that food prices, already high due to the drought in the U.S. and a heatwave in Russia, which lowered corn and wheat production. Continue reading

World Food Prices Up 1.4% In September

World food prices rose an average of 1.4% during September according to the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization. The senior economist at the FAO stated that food prices are likely to remain high.

The fear of food shortages due to drought hitting grain crops in the US, Europe and Asia continued after the FAO stated they predict a 2.6% decrease in cereal production. The decrease is smaller than expected due to higher amounts of wheat and rice offsetting the loss of corn crops. Continue reading

UN Asks US To Stop Biofuel Production

The United Nations has called on the United States to end production of biofuel ethanol because of the current worldwide food crisis.

Current US law requires that 40% of the nation’s corn must be used to create biofuel. Prices are currently facing significant increases with the USDA estimating the corn yield will be the lowest in 16 years. The shortfall is estimated to cause close to a 40 percent rise in prices per bushel. Continue reading
