While You’re Waiting…

Sharon Couchman

So much of our life includes lots of waiting time.  We wait to be served at a restaurant, at the bank, fast-food drive through, paying for groceries, shopping at a department store, etc.

Even here in the slower-paced Ozarks, especially in Branson, Missouri area all the “locals” have learned to take alternate routes around the Highway 76 strip.  During the tourist season bumper-to-bumper traffic crawls at a speed of 5-10 miles per hour and often comes to a stand-still.

Likewise, in our spiritual lives there is a passing of time involved before the answers to our prayers manifest. We have prayed, we believe God has heard, and then the “waiting” begins.  How long will it last? Continue reading

Why Is God So Mad At Me?

Clete Snellenberger

It is easy to accept the devil’s lies and strategy of how God feels about us. Many struggle with thoughts that God is just waiting to catch us doing something wrong and then “wham” hit us with His anger. Some believe that if we are not disciplined God doesn’t love us. Perceptions like this come from the accuser, guilt feelings, a sense of unworthiness and wrong teaching.

Think about it, if God (Who is all powerful) is mad at you, do you really want to be around Him? The enemy desires to alienate us from God so we won’t know, receive or experience God’s love.

Is God really mad at you or me? Let’s find out… Continue reading

Morning Prayer

Hello!  In my walk with God, I use this prayer each morning and wanted to share it with you.  I pray you will be able to use this prayer and be blessed.

Start with thanking God for blessings and praise Him!

For example, “Thank you, God, for the beauty that surrounds us, for your protection, for my home, food, family, a wonderful church and Pastor, for my health, for my job, etc.”  Thank God for all those things related to your life for which you are grateful. Continue reading

Thoughts from the Beatitudes

Betty Dewhirst

In the Book of Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7 we have the teachings of Jesus most commonly referred to as the Beatitudes. These chapters contain valuable truths essential to living as Christ commanded us to live. I would like to share some thoughts that the Lord has impressed upon my heart that have been life changing for me.

The more we hunger and thirst after righteousness, the more we shall receive from the Lord. He reveals Himself to the humble, (the poor in spirit), and withholds much from those who are proud. If we know we are needy in areas, He is faithful to reveal Himself to us in that area of need. If we are walking in pride and self-sufficiency then we do not receive from the Lord. Continue reading

When We Obey the Lord

Carol Gonterman

A lady called the prayer line last night.  She had an excitement in her voice as she started talking; “My name is Janelle, I’m new to the Pomona-Ottawa area in Missouri, about 800 people in all.  Earlier today I was praying and asking God for a friend.  I know no one in this area.”

“After I prayed,” she continued, “I then picked up my coffee and walked out on my porch, looking out over the field across the road.  In the distance I saw a figure coming towards me.  The closer the figure came I could see it was a woman and a loud voice came from the field.”  “Hi, my name is Suzanne.”   “Mine is Janelle. Come in, would you like some coffee?” Continue reading
