Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker discuss the Tribulation for Day 2 on The Jim Bakker Show.
Quotes
Here we are in this amazing day of the fulfillment of the word of God. It’s time to be ready. -Pastor Jim Bakker
Narrative
Pastor Jim and Lori continue discussing the time of trouble and sorrow that grips the world at this time. The ministry, he said, wants people to be prepared and ready to survive what lies ahead. He called attention to a Daily Finance news report that predicted major record labels will abandon use of CDs by the end of 2012. He also recalled the history of recordings, going back to the days of vinyl records and albums, 8-track tapes, audio cassettes and on to the relatively recent transformation to CDs.
Zach explained that the technology next in line to replace compact discs includes devices like iPhones, and services such as iTunes. Increasingly, individuals are choosing to simply purchase music online and then download songs directly to their electronic gadgets of choice. He shared that today’s handheld equipment can hold more than 100,000 songs.
Again reminiscing, Pastor Jim recounted his early days in Christian television when recording devices were the size of the large table at which he and the panel sat for the show’s taping. In the 21st century, he said, laptop computers now hold as much information as his multi-million dollar computer room did back when he started his television ministry. He used the term “infinite” to describe the amount of information available to anyone in the world through the internet database known as iCloud.
These great technological advancements and the masses being able to so quickly access data, was prophesied of in Daniel 12 where the prophet said these things would be signs of the time of the end. Mondo noted that it seems the increased availability and overabundance of knowledge has led people further away from God. Pastor Jim replied that this is what sets the stage for widespread deception, as described in Isaiah 5, which foretells a time when good will be called evil and evil will be portrayed as good.
This whole scene, he further said, opens the door for the entry of anti-Christ who emerges from the midst of confusion and in the absence of strong, righteous leadership in the world. This person wields such power that people will not be able to buy or sell unless they have his mark.
Jim then told how, during World War II, there were regulations placed on what foods people could purchase, and use of government issued food coupon books was standard. He then said, in a time of hunger, some will accept the mark of the beast in order to have food to feed themselves and their families. As the time of trouble escalates in severity, he urged viewers to take out food insurance in the form of purchasing and storing bulk items, such as the buckets of food offered for sale by the ministry.
He again referenced the Bible to show that Christians should have hope, even in this dark hour, because their “redemption draweth nigh,” as stated in Luke 21:28.
