Traditionally, people have considered Valentine’s Day a time to celebrate romance but I prefer to think of it more as “Love Day”. Did you know that the word” love” or “loved” is mentioned in the Bible over 400 times! It seems to me that every positive emotion we could ever have is tied directly to this all-encompassing love. Without it, everything we do has no meaning.
There is no doubt that God wants us to love each other! In 1 Corinthians 13, He tells us very clearly how important love is and exactly what that one little word means. Anyone who has ever been to a church wedding will have heard this, but have you taken the time recently to REALLY hear what He is telling us? Continue reading →
You’ve probably heard me say that when I am in Israel, I never want to leave. It’s hard to explain that feeling, but I know others who love Jesus and come to Israel feel that way too. I love Israel because Jesus loves Israel, and I love Jesus! When Jesus is in you, you can’t help but feel as He feels!
I always feel at home in Israel. When you come over the top of the mountains and see the city of Jerusalem before you, it’s magnificent and unforgettable, more so than any other city of the world. But, as Jesus looked out over the city, he wept because of what would happen to Jerusalem and its people in the future. Luke 19:41 Continue reading →
David was well aware of his own failures and he grieved over them! He hated the weaknesses of his own flesh and despised himself for giving in to them. But one thing he could not and would not do is to deny who he was in God. If there was one thing he was sure about – it was his identity and the anointing that was on his life. God had ordained him in his youth to be a king and a king he would be! Though the world, the flesh, the devil and all of hell had tried to remove David’s God-given purpose, they could not!
Saints of God, the enemy of your soul is after your very identity in these last days! Do you remember when Jesus asked the disciples, “who do you say I am”? Every single religious authority had challenged Jesus’ very identity. In fact, they crucified Him for telling the truth of Who He really was! If those who said they loved him didn’t know who He was, then how could the world be expected to? Only by divine revelation of LOVE can any of us love the other as Jesus commanded. Continue reading →
A New York family is grieving the loss of an 8-year-old boy who saved six relatives from a burning trailer home before dying in an attempt to save a disabled uncle.
Tyler Doohan woke his grandmother, aunt and cousins after spotting a fire in the family’s single wide trailer in Penfield, New York. After the others were out of the house, Tyler tried to rescue his disabled uncle Steven and grandfather but was overcome with smoke.
Tyler’s body was found in a back bedroom near the bed of the uncle he was trying to save.
Fire officials have not confirmed the cause of the fire but suspect it started from an electrical problem.
Neighbors told reporters that the residents of the trailer had said the managers of the trailer park considered their home “unlivable” on at least one occasion and expressed concern about the number of people living in the trailer. One neighbor said she was filled with regret for not calling county officials to save the children.
