Anchorage Shaken By 5.8 Earthquake

Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale shook Anchorage, Alaska and was felt for 175 miles from the epicenter according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake was approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Anchorage. Despite the strength, the tsunami warning center reported no threat to the coastal areas.

Anchorage police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker said they had no immediate reports of significant damage and called the quake “a little shaker-upper.”

Alaska has frequent quakes due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, however, most quakes are so small that most residents don’t even notice.

“Your Spidey senses are tingling,” Karen Whitworth of Wasilla told the AP. She said the quake shook her house to the point she felt lightheaded as if her inner ears had lost their sense of balance.

  1. I live in downtown Anchorage in an older cinder block apartment . The quake was substantial even on the fourth floor. Usually, the quakes manifest as the concrete floors “rolling”. This quake manifested with severe shaking – twice. Seems like The Pacific Ring of Fire is getting ready to explode. Peace,
