Words to Talk and Walk By

Ever wonder why words are so very exciting and important to us? God’s words that is!

“The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned.” (Isaiah 50:4)

As a young girl I remember writing letters to family and friends and was always encouraged by their responses. I would also write about my pets, nature and creative writing. I enjoyed making cards (even to this day at 65 years of age.) I enjoyed writing as it would encourage others or just let them know that I cared. Later I enjoyed crafting, drawing and continued writings.

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:16)

As I grew, words of course were more spoken and they became and would define who I was. Words that I spoke myself and there would be words spoken over me. Good or bad, but I would learn to choose how these words would affect my life by what I allowed.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

God would use word pictures throughout the Bible to help us understand more clearly His plan and purpose for us. Words represent our dreams and visions.

“Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.’” (Habakkuk 2:2,3)

I have learned to love words, especially God’s word. Our lives depend on words and how we use them.

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in what I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statues, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” (Deut. 30:15)

The more we use God’s words as our daily speech we do have life and victory. Or, we can have a defeated life here on earth. I like to think that my life has been and is orchestrated by the words I speak or have been spoken to me. I cannot always stop negative words spoken to me, but I can choose how I accept those words and how I react to them. This is my choice and my responsibility to allow God’s word to help me. Trust me, His way is the best way. Amen?!

Are you trusting God’s words for you — or what others say? Do you know the Word of God? Do you read and study it?

Do you speak God’s word over and in your life? There is power in God’s word and I have found that only by speaking His word, no matter my need, it will bring abundant life.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Without God I will succumb to the world’s way of thinking. To have God is to have the Son who is the Word, became flesh, died for us and rose again. He has given us the keys to life eternal, through words. When Jesus called us, He taught us through His Father’s Words. He did what He saw the Father do and only said what He heard His Father say. He knew the power in His Father’s words would give Him freedom to walk on this earth from the curse of sin and also it gives us the same power.

I am very thankful for the Bible, the spoken word of God, and for inspirational books that man has been anointed to write to help and encourage my daily walk. But, first and foremost, God’s word is priority and then man’s to compliment us to learn all we can. Thank God for His Holy Spirit who teaches us all things about God, His Kingdom and our blueprint here on earth to live a God-fearing life.

God is a faithful God and has been so very good to me. In the good times as well as the bad, even when I didn’t understand what I was going through, God was always faithful. He never forsook me or left me.

“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

I would encourage you to use and speak the word of God and the world will never be the same. God’s word brings favor, blessings and life more abundant. All this happens by believing, trusting and obeying the word of God, in all we say and do. There is power, power, and wonder-working power in the word of God. Amen! In God’s word there is power to heal, deliver and prosper. Seeking God’s word brings wisdom and understanding. With our lips we will praise our Lord and Savior.

“Direct my steps by your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.” (Psalm 119:133.)

How do you see and use the Word of God? Put on the armor of God, His Word. Speak life into and about your life and others by using God’s Word and watch yourself and the world around you change. As you walk and speak the Word around you, your world will never be the same.

FATHER, THY WILL BE DONE, NOT MINE.
