John 1:1 — “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. KJV
John 1:14 — “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”
John 10:30 — “I and [my] Father are one.”
With these three verses, we find that Jesus, Who was and is the Word, existed in the beginning but was transformed into human form and lived as we do, here on earth. So now, the Word transcends time and space. This is truly supernatural according to our mortal minds.
Yet, God wants us to be like Him in spirit. We, too, can access the spiritual realm and not limit how the Lord chooses to use us.
John 14:12 — “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
God, so attentively planned, equipped, and provided for our future assignments. Are you ready to be used by being transported to a destination for a specific purpose in God’s plan? It happened with Phillip (Acts 8:39), Paul (2 Corinthians 12:2), Jesus (Luke 24:36, 43). . .
Let’s look at the Word as it comes out of the mouth of God.
Isaiah 55:10 — “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Hebrews 4:12 — “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Revelation 1:16 – “And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength”.
Notice that this “two-edged sword” came out of Jesus’ mouth! Words coming out of the Word (Jesus). “Two-edged” in the Greek translation, is a compound word “distomos”; di, meaning two, and the stomos, meaning mouth. Two-mouthed!
Initially, the word proceeded out of the mouth of God, signifying one edge of the “sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God”. (Ephesians 6:17). Next, it needs to be released, by faith, out of your mouth, the second edge of the sword! Now that’s a sharp sword. Something happens in the realm of the Spirit when you finally rise up and begin to speak forth that word. Nothing is more powerful than God and You coming into agreement.
Deuteronomy 30:14-15,19 — “But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 19) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Now, here is a scripture about what the Lord will be doing in the last days.
Acts 2:17 — “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”
It is now time to allow the Lord’s destiny for this generation to come into fruition. It will be our mouths that He chooses to use. How dare we bind up His will and the end-time harvest of souls. Jeremiah had this calling as a child. We can gain instruction from this passage:
Jeremiah 1:2-12 — “Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.”
Wow! This powerful decree from the Lord came at the time that Jeremiah was doubting his ability. God also showed Jeremiah another method of being shown what to say through images in his mind given by the Holy Spirit.
The time is NOW to step out of our comfort zone! This was driven home to me, recently, as I received a Word through a visiting prophet. As this man delivered what the Lord gave him, it was remarkable how the Lord revealed a very intimate incident that only God and I knew about, to melt my entire being, and prepare me for His Word for my future! I cannot keep silent after experiencing what the Lord has chosen in these last days to touch the hearts of men!
What’s in a Word? The power to change your tomorrows and bring heaven to earth. What a privilege to be chosen to live in this “last hour” to usher in the coming of the Lord. Let’s not be slothful in our commission and take Him at His word as He “hastens to perform it.”
Psalm 119:105 — “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
