If ever there was a time to put your trust in the Lord, the time is now! Prophetic events are occurring at an amazing pace and even for those trying to keep up with the latest happenings, it has been challenging. During these troublesome times — the likes of which we’ve never seen before — commit to trusting God in every area and circumstance in your life.
Many of you have walked with the Lord for a long time and have learned to trust God through very difficult trials. However, even devout and committed Christians are struggling now more than ever with thoughts of fear and apprehension about the future. We are witnessing horrific violence, unrest, threats of war, water and food shortages, apocalyptic weather patterns throughout the world, political upheavals, and earthquakes (to mention a few.)
All of us may experience some apprehension and questioning of what to do. So how can we obtain some certainty and assurance in our life? Well, God makes it very simple, yet that simple act of setting our will requires an effort on our part. Let’s go back to the basics we learned long ago, which is, to put our trust in the Lord.
Trust that God still knows all about you and what you are experiencing, trust that God has an answer for every question and a solution to every problem. If you are His child, trust you are truly being led of the Lord and then follow through with what He is instructing you to do. Take it step-by-step.
If you focus on the huge mountains of adversity facing you, the enemy will attempt to discourage you. He tries to paralyze you with fear so you won’t turn to God or trust God for help. These fiery darts of defeatism are meant to influence your perception that everything is hopeless and you are a victim.
Just the opposite is true! You are victorious through Christ! Tell yourself that God is greater than anything the enemy or the world’s system throws your way. Declare that according to scripture God has promised you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Friend, your faith has to be rooted and grounded in the word of God. Put your trust in God!
Numbers 23:19 – “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (KJV)
Trust is the real issue in any relationship, including your relationship with God. The dictionary describes trust as:
“to rely on somebody or something, to place confidence in somebody or someone’s good qualities, especially fairness, truth, honor or ability, having confidence that the person will behave responsibly or properly, to place somebody or something in the care of another person, to hope, depend upon, have faith in, count on.”
Only our perfect God fulfills every one of these descriptions all the time.
Do you trust the Lord? God has proven Himself to be faithful and He gave His all, His very best, when He gave us Jesus. The devil’s goal is to get you to distrust God and he does this by sending thoughts of doubt and accusations toward God.
Pay attention to your thoughts when you don’t see the results of your prayers immediately. Begin to pull down those strongholds in the mental realm that try to exalt themselves against the truth of God’s Word. Offset those thoughts with the scriptures that apply to your situation.
Some prayers require a longer waiting period before the answer appears. During this transition time your faith is working and your trust is being deepened in the Lord. From the very first time you prayed God began working on your behalf behind the scenes. Remember the battle is won in the spirit realm before is shows up in the natural realm.
Reader, if you are struggling with a lack of trust, ask the only One you can truly trust for help! He is a very present help in time of trouble.
Psalm 46:1-2 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear…” KJV
God has a lot to say about trusting Him. Below are some scriptures that will encourage and strengthen you to trust the Lord. Begin confessing and applying these verses to your situation.
Psalm 56:3–“When I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”
Psalm 62:8—“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 115:11—“You who fear him, trust in the Lord — he is their help and shield.”
Psalm 118:8—“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.”
Proverbs 3:5-6—“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Psalm 40:1– “Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust…”
John 14:1–“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God.”
Nahum 1:7—“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
Proverbs 29:25—“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.”
Romans 15:13—“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Set your will today and make a decision that from now on you will trust the Lord in every circumstance. As we all truly trust in the Lord, we will be filled and overflowing with hope and assurance that God loves us, has heard our prayers, is answering our requests and empowering us with His Spirit.
