God’s Perfect Number

Clete Snellenberger

While studying God’s Word to believers the other day, I was thinking about God’s order in everything and His faithfulness in fulfillment of that order.

Lamentations 3:22,23 – “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is your faithfulness.”

It seems God’s perfect number is three. Seven is the number of completion. Eight is the number of new beginnings.

Example of three: God the Father — Jesus the Son — the Holy Spirit, our helper. Three in one.

God, the Father is over all things.

Psalms 24:1 says: “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”

Jesus, the Son, is the Head of the Church, the redeemer of mankind.

Ephesians 1:22,23 – “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” KJV

The Holy Spirit is the Director of the Church.

John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” KJV

Listed below are three directives for your life.

1. You need to know who you are in Christ.
2. You need to know who your Heavenly Father is.
3. You need to know who your enemy is.

1. You need to know who you are in Christ!
You are a new creation in Him! 2 Corinthians 5:17
You are the righteousness of God in Christ! 2 Corinthians 5:21
You are delivered from the power of darkness! Colossians 1:13
You are complete in Him! Colossians 2:10
You are now a light in the Lord! Ephesians 5:8
You are more than a conqueror in Him! Romans 8:37

2. You need to know who your Heavenly Father is!
God is Love – I John 4:7-8
God is Light – I John 1:5
God is Life – John 1:4

Two thirds of the spelling of God’s Name is Go:

John 3:16–17 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” KJV
17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. KJV

John 3:16, 17: “God so loved the world, (you and me), that He gave His only begotten Son so we (through Him and Him only), can have eternal Life. What a wonderful, loving, giving Heavenly Father!”

3. You need to know who your enemy is:

Ephesians 6:12 says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, (other people), but against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in Heavenly places.”

John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh not, but to steal, (your peace and joy), destroy (your reputation and character), then kill. . .”

You are a threat against the enemy with Jesus’ Name!

2 Corinthians 4:4 describes the devil “the god of this world.”

Ephesians 2:2 describes the enemy as the “prince of the powers of this world.”

Jesus said in John 10:10, “. . . I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly.”

We overcome the world with our faith!

1 John 5:4, “This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”

We overcome the flesh with the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit that you will overcome the flesh!”

We overcome the devil with the Word! Luke 4. Jesus overcame the devil in spirit, soul and body with this statement: “It is written”. . .

Luke 4:4 – “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” KJV

Luke 4:8 – “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” KJV

Luke 4:12 – “And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

These scriptures displays that Jesus dealt with all aspects of our being – spirit, soul and body. Again, the number three.

God’s perfect number.
