Christian, What Do You Really Have?

Sharon Couchman

All of us have dreams, goals and unfinished tasks yet to be fulfilled in these end times. Perhaps you are wondering what your part is in these “end times”? Even if you have decided to pursue these dreams, what you really have available to fulfill those goals as a Christian?

Looking in the natural it is easy to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we already have. Comparing ourselves with others is a trap that ensnares us into negative thinking patterns. It’s tempting to get stuck in the “poor me” thinking which results in self-pity and feeling less than others.

I know you have heard the expression “have” and “have not” nations when categorizing the occupants of certain countries. However, Christians are members of the Body of Christ and belong to God’s Kingdom. His Kingdom is a spiritual kingdom not limited by the fluctuations in our economy or the worldly system. As a member of the Kingdom of God we are in the “HAVE” category for Eternity.

And what are these “haves” or benefits that you were given by God when you became His disciple? Below are just a few I’m sharing with you today.

I have the peace of God which passes understanding. Philippians 4:7

I have the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5, I Corinthians 2:16

I have been saved and set apart (called) according to God’s doing. II Timothy 1:9

I have been seated with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6

I have an eternal inheritance. Ephesians 1:11

I have overcome the world through Christ’s victory. I John 5:4

I have the privilege and right to come boldly to the throne of God and obtain/find mercy and grace in the time of need. Hebrews 4:16

I have been forgiven, born again, and have received the Spirit of God. I Corinthians 2:12

I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who lives, but Christ. Galatians 2:20

God’s Word is so encouraging to us. Let’s continue to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in which there is never any lack. Jesus is our all in all and in Him is the provision for every need that will ever present itself. He not only has the answer – HE IS THE ANSWER!

God bless you as you daily praise Him for all He has done and given you. Praise God for what you truly have and possess because of the completed work of Christ at Calvary and through His resurrection!!
