The Trial of Your Faith (Pt. 1)

Our recent show guest, John Shorey, and I touched on a subject that is probably one of the most pertinent to the Times in which we are living – the trial of your faith. This is a subject worth exploring and I am going to do a series of blogs on it.

For me, the trial of my faith has taken on many different forms and spanned many decades. One would think that things would get easier as you go along in your Christian walk, but I’ve found that is not the case when you are on the front lines. Continue reading

Deadlines Bring Out Destiny

Have you ever sat back and watched people when they are faced with a deadline?  Whether it’s a construction project, a production schedule, a corporate venture, or any number of other scenarios, when people face a deadline, you will see many different responses from those who are involved based on their individual level of commitment.

When faced with a deadline, some people short-circuit and can’t seem to get it together.  These often have the “deer in a headlight” look.  Then there are those who put in a half-hearted effort to meet the deadline, but you know by the way they work that they’re really not all that interested and usually have some other motivating factor, like a paycheck for example.

Then there are those who put their nose to the grindstone, work past any normal working hours, and have the “eye of the tiger” when it comes to the passion they demonstrate.  These are the people who have a destiny involved with the project.  These are the people you can count on to make sure the project comes together and everything is READY when it should be!

Impossible deadlines bring out the “fiber” of people!  The people who will do the all-night duty are the ones you know have a destiny interest in the project!

That’s what it’s going to take in the Last Days to accomplish the work the Lord has assigned to His people.  It’s going to take passion and commitment, and a mind and heart set on the things of God – not set on what’s in it for me!  Those who have a mind to work don’t watch the clock in order to quit as soon as possible – they watch the prophetic timetable laid out in the Word and it fuels their desires to work!  It fuels their every thought, motive, and desire to press through to the destiny God ordained for them!

Right now, we still have time to work.  We still have time to prepare for Times of Trouble and we still have time to reach the lost!  The Bible says the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  We’re not looking for ways to get out of work, we’re looking for ways to be strong in the work we have been given!

God is joining us together with people of like-vision and passion.  He is doing this for these Last Days so that He can bless the work! (Psalm 133:1-3)  We may be a rag-tag bunch like David’s Army – but we’ve been purified in the fires of adversity and we  have our eyes set on the goal!

We do have a prophetic deadline when all of our work will cease.  But until then, we will work with an unbridled passion and a tireless commitment to our Lord Jesus and His Soon Return!

Who Ya Gonna Call (Pt. 12)

Mary burst out laughing.  “Dear me, I haven’t even taken an aspirin in ages!  But, yes, I will be glad to give you what I have.  You come.  Even after this crisis is over, come and be a part of our fellowship.  You’ll see what I mean.  We’re not closing up.  These are exciting days, and you are more than welcome to join us.”

“So what’s the catch?” Stan’s cynical side still remained unsatisfied.  “After you get me in the church, you bilk me out of all my money, is that it?” Continue reading

Who Ya Gonna Call (Pt. 10)

“But then calamity after calamity started to happen. At first it was awful. Everybody was at one another’s throats, arguing over all sorts of silly things, but little by little, the Lord began a marvelous refining process in our congregation. I’m not sure, but I think that’s what the Bible means when it says that Jesus will return one day soon for a church without spot or wrinkle. I think He’s getting the spots and wrinkles out of us by using all these tribulations we’ve been going through …” Mary paused in front of two large sets of doors. Continue reading

Who Ya Gonna Call (Pt. 8)

The church wasn’t a fancy building. From the outside, it looked more like a school, complete with gymnasium, than it did a cathedral. Stan gathered his family’s belongings, and Christine hoisted Natalie onto her shoulder. They walked to the side door of the sanctuary and stepped inside. Although the electricity was still off in the area, the interior of the building was well lit by dozens of candles and kerosene lamps, flames flickering against the lightly painted walls, giving the large room a warm and cozy feeling. It reminded Stan of the Christmas Eve candlelight services he attended as a boy.

The room was filled with bustling people, some carrying backpacks, others carrying sleeping bags, still others toting boxes, a few teenagers even sporting guitars. The scene looked like a busy summer camp! Continue reading

Hearing from God in the Last Days

We’ve been talking on the show lately about the importance of hearing from God about everything!  In the times we are living in, it’s not just a nice thing, it’s a necessary thing to hear from God and know what He is saying.

The primary way we can hear from God is reading His Word, of course.  But, there are other ways that God communicates to His people that are very Biblical as well.  God says in Joel 2:28 and again in Acts 2:17 that in the Last Days, He will pour out His Spirit on men and women alike, and they will have dreams and they will see visions.

Another way God communicates with His people is by speaking directly into their spirit.  The Bible says that God is spirit and we are made in His image.  That means we are a spirit too, living in an earthly body (for the time being.)  The idea of God speaking to us directly should not be foreign to us.

Our family has certainly experienced the above scriptures vividly, and we continue to experience dreams and visions almost daily.  There were three of us; Nena, myself and Jim who recently had dreams of an impending catastrophic disaster.  We don’t take them lightly.  We take them as a warning to prepare for what is coming.

Early in my Christian journey, I was walking along the beach one day and God started to speak to me about my future ministry.  He told me that one day I would speak to wave after wave (representing million of people) about abortion.  At the time, I didn’t know how this could possibly happen.  But, when God brought Jim and I together and I began to speak at conferences across the nation and talk to television audiences that spanned the globe, I recalled that vision.

I just want to encourage each of you that God will give you dreams and visions, and He will speak to you directly when you believe and trust that He can.  Jeremiah 33:3 NLT says to “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

I don’t know about you, but I need to hear from God on a daily basis for everything!  I believe He can and will show us every step to take and every move to make in the Last Days.

Call on God today.  He is there.  He is willing.  He will do it!

Who Ya Gonna Call? (Pt. 6)

“NEXT IN LINE, PLEASE!” an exasperated voice somewhere up ahead of Stan called. “Come on, let’s go. There are a lot of people waiting.”

Stan thanked the elderly woman for the bread one more time, then stepped into the narrow lane in front of the cash register, while his benefactor waited in the line next to him. There were no scanners functioning at the checkouts, no calculators, computers, or working cash registers, so every transaction had to be calculated on paper. Continue reading

Who Ya Gonna Call? (Pt. 3)

“What? Gone! What do you mean gone?”

“The entire downtown section … has been destroyed. It’s gone. All the skyscrapers, the hotels, the banks, the insurance company buildings—everything just crumbled. From what they are saying on the news, it was unlike any earthquake L.A. has ever experienced before. The plates beneath the surface didn’t just slide apart; they seemed to serge together, forcing each other into the air, and then buckled. It was as though all the pressure of the ages just blew the ground apart. Continue reading

Surrounded by your Enemies

In the Last Days, the Bible says that Israel will be surrounded by her enemies on all sides (Luke 19:43, Zechariah 12:3, Luke 21:20).  We’ve all seen this play out in the news every day.  Israel is indeed surrounded by her enemies, and we can be sure that without God’s divine hand upon her and His covenant that He established long ago with her, she would have little chance of survival in such a hostile environment.

When the agenda by your neighbors is to “wipe you off the map,” there is little peace or time for carelessness.  Indeed, Israel is ‘on guard’ every hour of every day.  She has a solidarity among her people that is based in survival.  They know that they must stand together in unity and they have united together under Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak with one voice.

Lately, in our world, all of Christianity has felt the same encircling by the enemies of Christ.  The antichrist spirit is at work in our nation and in our world.  Christians are coming under persecution by a world system that is moving rapidly towards not just a secular mindset, but a full-fledged antichrist agenda.  What is the antichrist agenda?  It is to rid the world of Christ and to eradicate all Christians.

Of course, this is not going to happen, but as the Last Days play out, Christians will feel more and more surrounded by their enemies and we will need each other to make it through the offensive this is mounting.  It’s even more important to remember that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, and rulers of high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

You would think that it would be easy for Christians to know their enemies, and to know the spirit of the antichrist by which they operate, but it’s not all that clear-cut.   Sometimes, it’s the enemy within that challenges the plan of God for His Church and His People in the Last Days.  Have you noticed that instead of a great coming together in the End Times against a common enemy (like Israel has done), Christians today are fighting each other with a fierceness that is very disturbing?

I’m convinced that a major strategy of the devil in the Last Days is to ‘divide and conquer’ God’s Church.  There’s no better way to do that than to convince each group or individual that they alone are the holders of the entirety of God’s truth, and that the rest of the Christians who hold differing viewpoints are all enemies.

In a paraphrase of a famous line:  “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”
