Rick Joyner meets with Donald Trump

Rick Joyner, founder and Executive Director of MorningStar Ministries, Heritage International Ministries as well as our amazing friend and member of the Board of Directors of Morningside, had the opportunity to meet with Donald Trump at his office in Trump Tower on Thursday.

In his Facebook posts, Rick said that they had not gathered together to discuss politics; but discuss principles.  Because of time constraints, Pastor Joyner wrote two short posts on his Facebook page describing his first impression of Donald Trump and the atmosphere of the discussions.  We are certain we will be hearing more on this visit but wanted to share these posts with you first hand.
In his first post, Joyner talks about Trumps confidence and the additional meeting with Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump.

In the second commentary posted a couple of hours later, Rick discusses his impression of this meeting and of the dedication of Mr. Trump’s staff.

Severe Weather in the Central United States Through Monday Night

Severe storms are expected throughout the afternoon and night, Monday into Tuesday, heading through the central states and eastward.  This same storm system produced severe thunderstorms with tornadoes and large hail in Colorado on Saturday and has been steadily advancing eastward according to the National Weather Service.

Accuweather.com and the National Weather Service are both reporting that the storms are expected to begin in the early afternoon along a dryline from eastern Kansas into Oklahoma.  The severe weather will journey eastward into Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and eastern Texas Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service warns that the main tornado risk appears to rise considerably once the system tracks into eastern Oklahoma in the late afternoon and into Arkansas during the evening.

Because of the substantial low level vertical shear over this area there is a good potential for strong tornadoes to develop.  Intense supercells will most likely be possible as well.

Accuweather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski advises, “The storms will bring the potential for frequent lightning strikes, flash flooding and a few isolated tornadoes, along with the ongoing risks of large hail and damaging wind gusts.”

Thunderstorms will continue to push eastward late Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Although there still will be capabilities of gusty winds and flooding downpours, the severe weather systems are expected to lower in intensity.

A few strong storms could redevelop during the day on Tuesday across part of the Ohio Valley as this system slowly drifts eastward.

Please stay tuned to local forecasts and take all precautions for your safety.  Motorists should plan on checking frequently on weather reports to stay clear of active and dangerous weather.  

 

San Andreas wound tight; locked, loaded and ready to roll

This year at the 2016 National Earthquake Conference, Thomas Jordan, director of the Southern California Earthquake Center, spoke a warning;

“The springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight. And the southern San Andreas fault, in particular, looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go,” Jordan said in his opening speech.

According to the L.A. Times, Scientists have observed that based on the movement of tectonic plates with the Pacific plate moving northwest of the North American plate, earthquakes should be relieving about 16 feet of accumulated plate movement every 100 years.  Yet the San Andreas fault, roughly 700 miles long and ten miles deep, has not relieved stress that has been building up for more than a century.  

In a 2008 U.S. Geological Survey report, if there was a 7.8 earthquake it would probably cause more than 2,000 deaths, 50,000 injuries, $200 billion in damage, and severe, long-lasting disruption. These numbers could climb with each damaging aftershock.  

In information found on the San Andreas fault website, those who survive the immediate earthquake will find themselves in danger. The first thing they will need is water, but most water mains will probably have been broken. Utilities such as electricity, natural gas, gasoline, telephones, etc. will be interrupted for days, weeks or longer. Medical facilities will be jammed and unable to handle the casualties. Most people will not be able to get to the hospital because roads will be damaged. Banks will be closed, as will any organization that relies on the internet. Little, if any, food or medicine will reach the area, and radio/TV communications will be spotty at best. They recommend being prepared with all you would need to camp for two weeks.  Water, food, tents, etc.  

In an interesting web article from the LA Times, simulated maps and video show the incredible shaking, depth and length of a magnitude 8 earthquake on the San Andreas fault line.  

“Even though the San Andreas fault does not go directly into Los Angeles — it is 30 miles away from downtown — the city is expected to be heavily shaken by a large earthquake on that fault. For instance, simulations of a possible magnitude 7.8 quake on the San Andreas fault that begins at the Salton Sea and spreads west toward the San Gabriel mountains and show seismic shaking waves “bent into the Los Angeles area,” said Jordan.   

According to many scientists, several of the larger cities located on the fault line are susceptible to liquefaction which happens when certain kinds of water-laden soils are shaken and momentarily cease to be solid, becoming somewhat fluid-like, similar to pudding. Any structure on such soil like buildings or freeways tend to sink into the soil and tilt, sometimes toppling over completely.

Storms and Tornadoes brewing into Wednesday

Forecast of where thunderstorms will be most likely on Tuesday.

Storms will be boiling and brewing, especially for the plains, midwest and the south starting on Tuesday. The National Weather Service is forecasting a cold front that will bring unsettled weather to the western U.S. into Tuesday with a numerous severe thunderstorms possible near portions of the Plains and Great Lakes on Monday.

Significant and severe thunderstorms will be quite possible across parts of the southern and central great plains Tuesday afternoon into the nighttime hours. According to The Weather Channel’s severe storm expert, Dr. Greg Forbes, there is a substantial possibility of strong, long track tornadoes for central and east Kansas and in portions of central and eastern Oklahoma.

Some of the cities for Tuesday’s storms that will be affected are Dallas-Fort Worth, Hastings, Nebraska, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas.

Wednesday the storm system will begin moving east, triggering numerous storms from the Missouri Valley to the mid Mississippi Valley, Lower Ohio Valley, the Ozarks and northeast Texas. These areas will have the potential for severe storms, tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds.

The Weather Channel and the National Weather Service are asking that you review your severe weather preparedness and stay tuned to local forecasts to track potentially dangerous weather systems.

April Snow Showers Bring Groans

April snow is in the forecast for a great deal of the Northeast along with a soggy cold rain as a series of storm systems move across the northern U.S. this weekend.  This will bring the potential for strong winds and wintry weather from the Great Lakes to New England through Friday and Saturday according the National Weather Service.   

The Weather Channel predicts that most areas will see less than 6 inches of snow through late Saturday night, though moderate snow accumulations are expected from the northern Great Lakes to parts of the mid-Atlantic states generally north and west of I-95.

Given the track of offshore low pressure, little or no accumulations are expected in most of New England.

The best chance for locally more than 6 inches of snow through Saturday will be across the higher terrain of West Virginia and far western Maryland.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms will bring welcomed drought relief over parts of California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico over the next few days.  The heaviest precipitation is expected over the Sierra Nevada mountains, where snow is likely at the highest elevations.

 

Precious New Addition to Lori’s House!

Lori holds the newest baby to be born at Lori's House

True smiles and hearts full of thankfulness are shining at Morningside as we welcome a brand new addition to Lori’s House! Baby Daniel was born this month! Both he and his Mom are healthy and happy! We are certain that Daniel will be getting lots of attention by the staff as his amazing and loving Mother continues to work hard at bettering her life for the both of them. It is such a blessing to see the vision of Lori’s House come to life!

Lori’s House is a place of ministry, love and healing with it’s main goal to save babies by providing an alternative to abortion and caring for their mothers. This beautiful home sits alongside a lovely stream, and is snuggled in the Ozark Mountains’ Peaceful Valley, just outside of Branson, Missouri.

We are happy to say that Lori’s House has been built debt free through generous and loving donations. There is no charge for a young woman who have been accepted to live at Lori’s house throughout her entire pregnancy. The ministry, through donations, will provide assistance for food, clothing counseling and medical care. Educational classes and job training are also provided.

This home opens its doors with hope for life! Welcome to the world little Daniel!

Gary Heavin to Promote “Amerigeddon” on the Jim Bakker Show

Gary Heavin, founder and former CEO of the fitness chain Curves, has more to talk about than our health. Heavin is also a producer, writer and actor known for movies such as Sironia (2011), Mission Air (2014) and a new movie being released May 13, 2016 called Amerigeddon.

Amerigeddon seizes on fact-based threats in the world today and asks the ultimate question, “What happens when government turns on the people it’s supposed to protect?”

On Tuesday, April 19th, Pastor Jim and Lori Bakker will be welcoming Gary Heavin to The Jim Bakker Show to talk about this incredible new movie and Gary’s thoughts on the current events in our world.

Amerigeddon is a collaboration between Director Mike Norris, son of Chuck Norris and executive producer Gary Heavin, and has been described as “the movie the establishment doesn’t want you to see.”

Heavin believes the film’s message of warning is quite timely. “We made a movie that is fun to watch but it is based in reality. In Amerigeddon, survivors of an EMP attack on the United States must live in a state of martial law led by the United Nations. American soldiers must decide whom they serve, second amendment rights are curtailed. Food, water and survival become our primary concerns— unfortunately, these are all likely scenarios resulting from a very real threat.”
