Fear Vs. Faith

Betty Dewhirst

The Word of God is very clear in telling us that men’s hearts shall be failing them for fear in the last days.  In Luke 21:26, we read:

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:  for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” KJV

We have seen many earthquakes and tornadoes, and floods on the increase these last few years.  Then, we have also had the increase of terrorism and crime as well.  Many have been paralyzed by fear and are living in despair.

We have also seen the ugliness on the political scene where the candidates are acting like children instead of men and reacting in a manner that has surprised all of us.  We have found ourselves wondering where this all will end.

As the darkness is increasing in the world and in the people, God, at the same time is moving by His Holy Spirit in the hearts of His People.  The Body of Christ has been in a state of slumber and apathy and even has progressed into a state of apostasy.  No longer do we see the burden for the lost and dying.

But, Hallelujah, there are many in the Body of Christ who have not been content with the status quo in the church and who have desired to come into a greater intimacy with the Lord and to “follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth”.

Revelation 14:4 — “…These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”

God’s people are being raised up and prepared for such a time as this.  When all else fails and the world seemingly is falling apart, the Christians are coming into a new boldness and higher level of faith.  They will not be stopped by the adversary!  They will know their God and they will do exploits!

Daniel 11:32 – “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

Christ’s followers are sensing a greater anointing of the Holy Spirit on their lives and a greater increase of the joy of the Lord upon them.   In the midst of adversity they are being strengthened.  As they see the dark storm clouds arising, they too are arising in faith and being prepared for whatever they may face in the days to come.

Psalm 27: 1 is a song they are singing:

“The Lord is my Light and my salvation,

Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the Strength, the strength of my life

Of whom then, shall I be afraid?

Vs. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in His pavilion:

In the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me;

He shall set me up upon a rock.”

In these next few months, America will be facing the unknown with the threats from China, North Korea and terrorist attacks, not to mention earthquakes, floods etc.  But, this will be the greatest hour for the church!  When things fall apart, the hearts of many will be open to receive Jesus as their Savior!   Already we are hearing of great numbers of Muslims being saved and brought out of spiritual darkness into the marvelous Light of the Lord.  Imagine what it will be like when radical Muslims are saved and they become radical Christians!

We have been praying and believing for a Great Spiritual Awakening and a Mighty Revival in America.  We know that this is what will save our Nation!

Regardless of what we face, we must walk forward in faith and trust in the Lord.  Our God is faithful!  He is still on the Throne and He hears and answers prayer.

As Believers we must not be affected by the mindset in the world and all that is being broadcast by the media.  God is still in control!
