I love reading God’s Word, even out loud, and receiving new revelation from it. In John, chapter 9, several things caught my attention. In verses 2 – 5, the question was asked Jesus about the blind man. Basically, the conversation went like this (paraphrased). “Who did sin, this man, or his parents?” Jesus answered: “Neither, that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”
As you read the account you discover that Jesus personally made clay, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the clay and said, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam.” This is faith in action! Verse 9 says: “Some said this is he when they saw him. Others said, “He is like him, but He (the blind man) said: “I am he!”
John 9:1-15 – “And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2) And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3) Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5) As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6) When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7) And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. 8) The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9) Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10) Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 11) He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. 12) Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not. 13) They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14) And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15) Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.” KJV
Nothing compares with experiencing the Presence of Jesus for yourself. I am praying that you also will have a personal encounter with the Lord’s presence. I believe your life will change so dramatically that others will wonder what happened. They may question if you are the same person they formerly knew. In response, like the blind man, you will be able to say, “I am he.”
In summary, religious people will always ask; how, when, or where about your special experience with Him. With the formerly blind man, when they asked, where is he? He said: “I do not know.” How did he do it? They even asked his parents, “Is this your son? How then does he see?” They said, “Ask him. He is of age, he shall speak for himself.” He (the blind man) said, “One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, Now I see!”
Religious leaders asked again. “How did he do this?” His answer was, “I told you and you didn’t listen. I was blind but now I see!”
The blind man had a personal encounter with Jesus and although he could not explain everything, he just knew his sight had been restored. Experiencing Jesus for yourself is the greatest personal reality there is in life. This is available to any who will believe!
Someone once said, “Be selective in what you believe to be effective in what you receive!” God, through the Holy Spirit, wants each person to know and experience Him as their Shepherd.
John 10:3, 4 — “He calleth His own sheep by name, and He leadeth them out. 4) He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know and experience His voice.”
I encourage you to read God’s Word out loud. Ask the Lord to increase your understanding. Pray that you will receive guidance from the scriptures for your life. The Lord is so pleased when we seek Him with our whole heart.
Once you truly experience God’s presence and His loving touch, no one will be able to convince you that God is not real. Many are blinded spiritually, not even sure that God exists. Others only seek His help when it is convenient or in a crisis. But God has much more for His people. He wants to be involved in our daily life and circumstances. Invite the Lord daily to touch your life with His anointing and welcome His presence.
There is nothing like “One touch from the Master!” Nothing is impossible with Him!
