What You Believe Is Important

Clete Snellenberger

Many go through life without seriously considering what or why they believe certain things. It is so important to be selective in what you believe to be effective in what you receive. If you focus and believe in the negative, that is what will be apparent to you. However, if you focus on the positive and agree with God’s Word, you will have a better outlook and expect the goodness of the Lord.

Years ago relationship with Christ was called “The Great Confession”.

Hebrews 3:1 says “Jesus is the High Priest of our profession”. Here profession and confessions are the same in meaning:

“Confession” means “saying the same thing.”

Confession is simply believing with our hearts and repeating with our lips God’s own declaration of who He is and who we are in Him. Our core beliefs as Christians must be in agreement with God’s Word in order to experience a victorious life.

You will never rise above your confession of these two key admonitions.

Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession (confession) of our faith without wavering. For He is faithful.

Confession is not a formula – it is a principle!! It is a spiritual law!

Our confession rules us, it dominates our inner being. Hebrews 4:14 says “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, Let us hold fast our profession (confession).

Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Think of it—death and life is your choice, is like being in your hands, or rather, in your mouth — so speak and believe God’s Word and live!

Healing is always in response to faith’s testimony.

Psalm 34:10 – “They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”

God will be no bigger to you than you believe and confess Him to be. God is Great, He is Almighty, All-powerful and All Knowing, but do you see Him that way? One pastor’s wife expressed it this way: “Big Problem or Big God? – so true. It has to do with your belief and perception of God. Is He bigger than any problem that comes your way? Or, is the problem bigger than your God? It all comes down to what you choose to believe.

The song writer wrote – “My God can do anything!” All things are possible to them that believe. Hold fast the confession of your faith based upon God’s Word and it will come to pass.

Hebrews 10:35-36 – “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you will receive the promise.”

I John 5:14-15—“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us, and if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of Him.”

WORDS ARE POWERFUL!!

Words are an expression of what we are thinking. Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

If your beliefs have been based on falsehoods and not in agreement with God’s Word then now is the time to change! It’s crucial that you know the Word of God and that you speak the truth in every situation.

BE ROOTED IN HIS LOVE!

BE SUBMITTED TO HIS WILL.

BE DOERS AND NOT HEARERS ONLY.
