Dear Friend,

We are living in the midst of the last-days’ timetable and this will prove to be a very significant year. At the same time, I believe this will be a great year of harvesting souls for God’s Kingdom! God’s Spirit is moving mightily throughout the world and revival is heading our way.

Today is your day to be encouraged by the Word of God and receive His favor in your life. Regardless of what year it is, our God has provisions, blessings, and a storehouse of favor for His people. God has not changed and He is still the same miracle-working God we read about in the Bible. He has a never-ending supply to meet every need that you will ever experience. With that in mind I’m sharing this teaching on the favor of God and what it means to you.

As you read the following scripture make it personal and begin to agree with God’s Word. Believe that the favor of God is available for you and your household.

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour. You will surround him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12) KJV The Living Translation says: “For you bless the godly man, O Lord; you protect him with your shield of love.”

The Lord says His favor is like a shield wrapped around His people! Let’s agree with God’s Word and see ourselves surrounded with favor. Expect favor!

So, what is the meaning of the word “favor”? The dictionary defines it as:

“Friendly or favorable regard; approval or support, To make easier or more possible; facilitate, favoritism,. advantage; benefit–To treat or regard with friendship, approval, or support; to be partial to; indulge a liking for, in support of; approving: a gracious, friendly, or obliging act that is freely granted.”

Have you struggled for years, worked hard, prayed, sought the Lord and begged God for your breakthrough? Well, God’s favor is for you! Be bold with God and ask Him for His favor. Then receive it and begin to expect it in your life. Acknowledge God’s favor in even the smallest thing and you will start to see it increasing more and more. Be sure to thank and praise the Lord every time favor manifests.

What are some other benefits of favor working in your life? Well, it can take you places you’ve only dreamed of–doing things you never thought possible. God’s favor can connect you with people you ordinarily would not encounter. Favor can bring resources to you that you didn’t even realize existed. God’s favor can cause you to be at peace with your enemies and they may even end up blessing you! (Psalm 23 talks about the Lord setting a table (of blessing) before us in the presence of our enemies.) God desires to work on your behalf during your worst trials.

The more you thank and praise God for His favor, the more it will show up! Thank the Lord in advance for His favor before those important phone calls, dealing with creditors, a difficult boss, approaching someone with a suggestion, etc. The Lord is your Helper!

Psalm 54:4—“Behold, God is mine helper…” KJV

Psalm 119:58—“I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.” KJV (Notice David passionately sought God’s favor.)

Psalm 106:4—“Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people…”

Psalm 30:5—“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (God’s favor brings life into a situation.)

Job 10:12–Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

(God’s favor can sustain us during difficult times.)

Proverbs 3:1-4 — “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.” KJV

(Summarily this says – stay close to God, stay obedient to His Word and then favor comes.)

Pray for God’s favor over your loved ones, your job, your household and everything that concerns you. Favor opens doors that no man can shut. Wherever you go and whatever circumstances occur in your life, remember that God’s favor is with you, around you and on you. What a difference this truth can make in your outlook regardless of what is happening in your world.
