Ugandan Ebola Outbreak Hits Capital City

Rev 6:7,8  NCV  When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill people by war, by starvation, by disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.

Ebola, the virus that kills up to 90% of those infected, has broken out in Uganda and now has killed one person in the capital city of Kampala. President Yoweri Museveni is urging people to avoid physical contact in an attempt to stop the disease.

Health officials are attempting to track down anyone who had contact with the victim in an attempt to constrain the outbreak. Nationwide, fourteen have died from the disease in this latest outbreak.

They are also asking residents to not bury their dead if they die from the disease but to contact the health ministry. One of the most recent victims, a pregnant woman, is reported to be the source of the infection spreading at a funeral.

“Health workers…know how to do it,” Museveni said.

Uganda has had three major outbreaks in the last 12 years. The disease has no vaccine.
