Typhoon Hits China; Flooding Kills Over 100

Luke 21:25,26 “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Typhoon Utor roared into mainland China with heavy rain causing major flooding that has left at least 105 people dead.

Chinese state media reports that at least 115 people are missing after initial reports from rescuers. The Xinhua news agency says the floods are the “worst in decades.”

The typhoon passed through the southern Guangdong province last week but was followed by several waves of heavy rain that magnified the problems created by the storm. The neighboring Hunan province and Guangxi Zhuang region were hit hard by the storm and rains as well.

Over 8 million residents have been impacted by the storms.

The government is also reporting that over 630,000 acres of farm land has been destroyed in a region that is a major food producer for the country.

Over 3,000 military troops are being dispatched to help search and rescue.
