The Pakistani Taliban has kidnapped 22 military police and killed two others in an attack on checkpoints in northwest Pakistan.
The Islamic terrorist group is claiming even more kidnapped than the official government figures. A rescue effort to save the kidnapped soldiers is currently underway.
Military officials say the terrorists attacked with automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades at checkpoints close to the Afghanistan border. It’s the third attack by the Taliban in the region in December with the largest assault two weeks ago when homicide bombers attacked the Peshawar airport.
A homicide bomber also killed 8 people, including a senior government official, in an attack last Saturday.
