Russian Volcano Shoots Ash Three Miles High

Joel 2:30 "I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke.

The northernmost active volcano in Russia erupted Monday sending ash shooting three miles into the sky.

The Shiveluch volcano has been active since May 2009.

The local Emergencies ministry said that ash cloud moved east away from residential areas. However, the cloud is high enough to interfere with jet engines forcing re-routing of commercial flights.

Scientists said that the ash fallouts could be hazardous to health and environment so residents of the area are encouraged to avoid the ash fall area.
