North Dakota Passes Sweeping Abortion Ban

Matthew 19:18 ESV “And Jesus said, “You shall not murder…”

Editor’s Note: Throughout the scriptures, God has made it clear that shedding innocent blood is murder, and no murderer will enter heaven. In addition to the death of the unborn baby, abortion also substantially harms the women and many times, families, husbands, boyfriends and a whole sphere of relationships connected to and surrounding each abortion. Often, lifelong guilt and other social, relational, spiritual and even physical problems follow the murder of innocent babes in the womb. Pastor Jim Bakker believes that this issue, abortion, may be the single most significant issue that brings God’s judgment on this nation more than any other.

The North Dakota Senate has passed legislation that would make the state the hardest in the nation to get an abortion.

The bill, House Bill 1456, would ban abortion after the first sign of a fetal heartbeat which can be as early as five weeks into pregnancy. The bill also prohibits doctors from performing abortions due to gender or genetic abnormalities. The Governor is expected to sign the measure.

The law includes an exemption for cases where the mother’s life is in danger.

One of the co-sponsors of the bill, state Rep. Bette Grande, hopes the bill could lead to a challenge to Roe v. Wade.

“We have seen efforts to ban abortion entirely and those attempts have failed,” Guttmacher Institute spokeswoman Elizabeth Nash said. “Now they’re moving toward banning abortions as early as possible.”
