The Islamic extremist group Boko Haram launched an attack on a Christian village in northern Nigeria, killing at least 106 Christians.
Boko Haram invaded the city using trucks and motorcycles and began indiscriminately killing any male who did not identify himself as Muslim.
Initially, the group used machetes to kill a group of male residents who had gathered in the town square. Then they went house to house, either shooting or slitting the throats of any Christian man. They also killed a grandmother who tried to stop the terrorists from killing her grandson.
Several residents were injured, some critically, and local officials expect the death toll to rise.
Government officials say the terrorists then looted homes and businesses before loading their stolen goods into the vehicles of residents and driving them into the bush surrounding the town.
The group also set fire to homes before they fled.
Boko Haram has vowed to eradicate all Christians from Nigeria.
