Hurricane Isaac Strikes New Orleans Exactly Seven Years After Katrina

Luke 21:7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?”

Luke 21:11 "There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and epidemics in many lands, and there will be terrifying things (that which strikes terror), and great miraculous signs in the heavens."

“Catastrophic calamities are coming upon the earth, not one of these days in the distant future, but soon—now! Torrential rains, unsettling weather patterns, violent storms, floods, famines, droughts, earthquakes increasing in frequency and intensity, volcanic eruptions, and a host of other signs of the times Jesus told us to watch for are happening now.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

On the seventh anniversary of the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina, the less powerful Hurricane Isaac is hitting New Orleans. However, Isaac has already breached one levee in the city causing flooding of hundreds of homes.

The storm currently is maintaining sustained winds of 80 miles per hour.

Plaquemines Parish spokeswoman Caitlin Campbell said water is currently running over an 18-mile stretch of levee. The storm made landfall in their Parish and then went back out to sea before touching down further west to hit the city a second time.

Isaac has slowed to moving at 6 miles an hour causing heavy flooding within its path. Officials have told residents who did not evacuate to stay in their homes until the winds decrease and rain weakens.

At least two highways north of New Orleans are too flooded for traffic and over650,000 people are without power as the storm progresses through Louisiana.

Billy Nungesser of Plaquemines Parish told NPR that this storm is causing more damage in their area than Hurricane Katrina.

“I don’t know who is calling this a category 1, but this is no category 1,” he said. “My house has more damage than it did during Katrina.”

  1. Areal shame that they are going though it again, the time to prepare is here and been here.people would really have to have there head in the sand not to be able see everyone needs to repent and prepare for our lord comeing .

  2. Every time I watch the news and see what is going on in the world today; I know Jesus is coming soon. The signs show and people are just running around like nothing is going to happen.
I told my husband that on regular news they give it but can’t say “Let’s get ready people. Can’t you see the signs of times. That’s what I think of.
