The attorney presenting closing arguments in the case of the Philadelphia Abortion House of Horrors said the prosecutors were elitists and racists who made a big deal out of nothing to charge a minority doctor with crimes.
“We know why he was targeted,” Attorney Jack McMahon said. “If you don’t see that reality… you’re living in some sort of la-la land.”
That was the thrust of the defense’s closing argument in the case where prosecutors showed Dr. Kermit Gosnell cut the spinal cords of live babies born at his clinic. McMahon also said that former employees were “manipulated” into testifying against Dr. Gosnell and that any graphic photos shown to jurors was just part of abortion.
Prosecutors in their closing arguments said that Dr. Gosnell would not have cut the spinal cords of the babies if they had not been born alive.
Gosnell could receive the death penalty if convicted on the multiple murder charges in a case largely ignored by the mainstream press.
