France Increases Troop Strength In Mali Conflict

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

France has increased its troop strength in Mali as they have officially joined the ground war against Islamic terrorists attempting to overthrow the Malian government.

“The actions of French forces, be it air forces or ground forces, are ongoing,” France’s Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told reporters. The troops are working beside Malian military forces in the town of Diabaly, about 200 miles north of the Malian capital.

The French troops increased by 600 Thursday with an additional 1,100 expected to arrive within the week. The troops are reportedly French special forces with advanced training in desert fighting.

In a surprise move, the African nation of Chad announced they would send 2,000 troops to join the Malian army in fighting the terrorist invasion. The first wave of Nigerian troops and aircraft to join the fighting arrived in the Malian capital on Thursday.

France says the action is to keep Mali from becoming a “terrorist state.”
