Eight Killed In Iranian Earthquake

Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

At least eight are dead and more than 20 injured after a 5.5 magnitude earthquake rocked eastern Iran. The epicenter of the quake was 15 miles outside the village of Zohan.

However, search and rescue teams are still en route to the damage locations and the death toll could significantly rise.

The provincial capital of Birjand has reportedly suffered heavy damage forcing residents to flee their homes. Power lines and phone service has been eliminiated to the region. Survivors are facing unclean water and being stuck outdoors in below-zero weather.

District governor Farhad Falahati said they have supplies to help but that it’s been impossible to get to some areas.

“landslides especially on the route to Sharaj have stopped the relief supplies from getting there,” he told Reuters.
