Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis Outbreak In Los Angeles

Revelation 6:7,8 NCV When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill people by war, by starvation, by disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.

Thousands of Los Angeles residents on “Skid Row” may have been exposed to a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis according to multiple sources.

The Centers for Disease Control has descended on the area in an attempt to stop the disease from spreading.

Dr. Johnathan Fielding, the director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, told FoxNews that this is the “largest outbreak we’ve seen” in the city’s homeless population in a decade. He estimated that 4,500 homeless men and women have been exposed to the deadly disease.

Dr. Fielding attributes the outbreak to the disease being brought in by foreign travelers. However, cases of the disease have been growing in the city’s homeless population for many years. The disease is normally found in developing countries.

Health officials say the outbreak is contained to Skid Row and that people in the city at large should not be afraid of contracting the disease. However, officials admit that the homeless population is transient and could spread the disease to other shelters and on the street in other parts of the city.
