Death Toll From Pakistan Flooding Rises To 80

Luke 21:25,26 “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

The heavy rains continue to fall in Pakistan as the death toll has been confirmed to rise to 80.

Collapsed buildings and flood waters have chased more than 80,000 people out of their homes. Civil and military authorities have been dispatched to rescue people who are trapped by the flood waters.

Brig. Kamran Zia, a senior member of the National Disaster Management Authority, said that deaths from the flooding now span the entire country. The country routinely suffers flooding during monsoon season and the latest flooding is significantly less than 2010 when 1,700 were killed and 20 million were left without homes.

In neighboring Afghanistan, officials say the same monsoon storm cell had killed at least 75 people and leveled homes in five provinces since Saturday.
