Boko Haram Leader Believed Dead

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

The leader of the Boko Haram Islamic terrorist group in Nigeria is believed to have been killed in a clash with government troops.

Abubakar Shekau is believed to have died near the end of July according to an intelligence report released by the Nigerian government. The U.S. government had placed a $7 million bounty on Shekau because of his power within Islamic terrorist circles.

“Shekau was mortally wounded in [a June 30] encounter and was sneaked into Amitchide – a border community in Cameroon for treatment,” Lt. Col. Sagir Musa told the BBC. “It is greatly believed that Shekau might have died between 25 July and 3 August 2013.”

The news comes just days after the Nigerian military killed the man who at the time was considered second in command in the terrorist group’s structure, Abu Saad, also known as Momodu Bama.

The Nigerian government declared a state of emergency in May in three northern states for the sole purpose of destroying Boko Haram and stopping their campaign to make Nigeria an Islamist state.

  1. This is proof of God’s answer to His people praying, things like this do not happen by accident. God did say in 2Chronicles 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. God does have his remnant praying, even if things around us are falling apart. God always answers our prayers, even when it is difficult for us to see that He has. God told Abraham that He would have saved Sodom and Gomorrah if He could have found 10 intercessors in the city to pray for that city. If God would have saved Sodom and Gomorrah for 10 intercessors, then God would do the same for any city that He has intercessors praying for the healing and salvation of that city, which means the US cities as well. For the leader of the Boko Haram Islamic terrorist group to be taken out is proof that someone or a group of people were praying. God does amazing things on earth when His people pray, and His specialty is accomplishing the impossible, or what is impossible for men to do.
