Mark 13:13 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”
The anti-Christian organization American Atheists is threatening to sue Princeton, New Jersey if they display a 9-11 tribute that includes a beam from the World Trade Center that has a cross cut out of one side.
The group calls the beam “grossly offensive” because of the cross.
“This particular beam has a religious symbol on it,” American Atheists president David Silverman told FoxNews. “They have a beam with a religious symbol and that makes it a religious icon.”
However, deputy fire chief Roy James says the cross has nothing to do with promoting Christanity.
“I’m a Jew,” he told Fox. “Ironically, I’m fighting to have this cross there because I believe there is someone’s story behind that. That story needs to be told. It has nothing to do with religious faith. It has something to do with telling history.”
The 9-11 memorial is being debated by the Princeton City Council. The Mayor did not comment on the matter but several council members told a local paper they were concerned about the threat of a suit.
The anti-Christian group is the same one that tried to have a giant cross made from two beams that fell on top of each other at the World Trade Center removed from a memorial museum in New York City. The judge in that case threw out the case.
“This Kingdon sufferth violence and the violent take it by force!” It is time for God’s people to stand up for what is right and what this great country stands for and the beliefs in God’s holy word that the founding fathers created this country on!
i don’t understand….if they don’t believe in God or Jesus why does just the sight of a cross bother them so much? Do they feel threatened by it? I’m gonna guess foul language and porn does not bother them as much as a cross does. Boy if that is true these folks are in deep trouble. There are so many vulgar things on our tv’s now, and the F word finds itself used in everyday language like it is just a regular word, but we don’t hear about anyone offended about all that garbage, but the cross offends them. Either these folks are just looking for things that might offend them, or they don’t have the slightest idea what eternity is, or where they themselves will spend it. Not to worry though, I doubt there are crosses or pictures of Christ where they will spend it…..unless they wake up and repent.
The anti-Christian group needs to just “get a life…in Christ”! 🙂
Why should atheists run this country? It was founded on Christian principles! Leave the cross alone!
