Afghanistan Flash Floods Kill 22

Luke 21:25,26 NLT “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”

Flash flooding in Afghanistan’s Kabul province has killed 22 people according to local officials.

A weekend of heavy rain caused flooding that swamped a village in the Shakardara district. The area had been a center of activity because of the vineyards and apple orchards where families would celebrate the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Reports from officials say most of the victims were in cars that were covered by the rapidly rising floodwater.

The flood wiped out homes, fruit gardens and agricultural land.

This is the second fatal flash flood to hit Afghanistan this month. Dozens were killed after an earlier storm system caused heavy rain that washed away villages.
