7.0 Earthquake Shakes Northern Japan

Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

A week of earthquakes across Japan is heading into the weekend with a 7.0 magnitude quake.

The major quake, which fortunately did not spark a tsunami, comes two days after a 6.2 magnitude quake that struck about 110 miles south of Tokyo.

Japan is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire and contains ten percent of the world’s active volcanoes. As many as 1,500 earthquakes are recorded a year in Japan although most of them are very minor in magnitude.

However, in the last three days, there have been 22 earthquakes of a magnitude 4.5 or more. A quake last Saturday started the series of strong earthquakes injuring 23 people in Kobe, Japan.
