RUN to the Word!

When I was in Master’s Commission in Phoenix, I memorized over 450 verses of scripture as a requirement of the program. Over the years, the Word of God that I “hid in my heart” has guided my life through many different situations. The Word of God has the answers for every problem, every decision, and every fork in the road… and there have been many.

As a result of learning so much of the Word of God, my ears are tuned in to what’s right and what’s not. Discernment comes from knowing God intimately, and knowing God and knowing the scriptures are inseparable. You can’t have true guidance in your life unless you do know the Word.

Some people think their own heart can guide them. Have you ever heard these people? They say things like: “I’m a good person. My heart will tell me what’s right or what’s wrong.” Let me just tell you outright that they are deceived! The Bible says that man’s heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9.) In Mark 7:21, it says, “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders…” Psalm 118:8 says, “[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Humanistic thinking is how we have gotten into such a mess in this world. Mere humans, who do NOT have the mind and heart of God, have thought they could do it better on their own and have developed a culture that is God-less! How foolish! How utterly arrogant! The created thing is trying to tell the Creator that they don’t need Him! God isn’t anywhere near most of the laws, policies and educational systems of this world! The goal of this God-less society is to take our kids and our families straight into Hell! I know that’s blunt, but it’s time we called it what it is. It’s time now to be bold!

The more worldly the world gets, the more I RUN to the Word of God! We need to hide the Word in our hearts, that we will not sin against God (Psalm 119:11.) We don’t even know what offends God, or what is sin unless we know the Word. We need to eat the Word (Jeremiah 15:16, Rev 10:9) because it will nourish our souls.

Run to the Word! Don’t trust others or even yourself – trust only what God has said in the scriptures. His Word will guide you and you will not be deceived!

  3. As always Lori your Blog speaks the present. In the state of California we voted against this outrageous bill… however lost and will now be passed into law Jan. 1, 2014 where any K-12 student who identifies his or her gender as something opposite of what his actual sex is, has full access to any bathrooms, locker rooms and sports teams, whatever they choose.

I am sickened by this however, stand with the quote on this newsflash from Assembleman Tim Donnelly who quoted Billy Graham saying: “I still have hope for America because of Jesus Christ”.

Anyone ….ANY…. ONE who thinks the end times are not upon us are gravely mistaken. They can “firmly believe” whatever they want i.e… a person can “firmly believe” that gravity does not exist…. that “belief” does not change the “Law of Gravity”. Hebrews 3 for such a time as this and to become a doer of this passage and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ… our Rock… our sure firm foundation! One Way: Jesus!

Prayer is the most powerful & dynamic “wireless connection” we possess and honored to use multiple times a day. Hallelujah! Prayer changes things….but we have to use it!

As always Lori… Thank you… and by the way: HAPPY GLORIOUS BIRTHDAY!

Hugs, Blessings & Prayer from California,
    Love Kathlene
