As I reflect on this past year, I couldn’t be more thankful for my station in life which includes my amazing marriage, motherhood and ministry. I have been so blessed in this life and love these scriptures that talk about blessing:
Matthew 5:2-12
And opening His mouth He began to teach them, saying, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. “Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Our family was blessed last year with Graham, my nephew, and our new granddaughter, Olivia, who made her grand appearance in December. Her proud parents are Little Lori and Jasper. We are very, very thankful for this little girl! These amazing babies have given us great joy and some very memorable moments!
Along with all of my amazing children, and others in my wonderful family, I especially give thanks for my Mom, Char. My mother is my rock. She has been there throughout my life to provide support, counsel, and sometimes, just a listening ear. As the years go by, she becomes even more of a treasure.
And I thank God for Jim. Life with Jim is truly “More Than I Could Ever Ask.” As we deal daily with the challenges of ministry, Jim’s resolve never wavers.
Most of all, I am thankful to God for His faithfulness throughout the generations.
Thankfulness is not just a “nice thing.” It’s a necessary thing. Thankfulness to God for His love, care for us, and His provision for our salvation is a major theme throughout both Old and New Testaments.
I encourage you to write down the things you are thankful for and read them a few more times this week.
Please add any other of your favorite inspirational quotes on thankfulness to the comments below so this may be a better resource for those who read it.
