Choose Thankfulness!

No matter what your station in life, no matter your situation or your circumstance, there is always something to be thankful for. In fact, thankfulness is a choice that we make each moment of our lives as we live in this fallen world and wait for the final redemption from it.

The truth that we must all get down deep into our souls is that Jesus has already redeemed us, if we believe in Him and receive Him as our Lord and Savior. When this world and its problems challenge our sense of eternal well-being, the scriptures provide all the answers we need to confront and overcome the lies of the enemy.

Today, I am so thankful for the Word of God and its supernatural ability to keep us in Times of Trouble in this world. Ephesians 6:17 describes the Word of God as the Sword of the Spirit with which we can fight and be able to stand, and having done all…. Stand!

Recently, I was faced with a huge problem in the ministry where our partners were missing either all or part of their orders. I can’t tell you how devastating this was to me! If there’s one thing I can’t bear, it’s the thought of not being able to fulfill my promises. As it turns out, the problem was identified as a software glitch and we are now in the process of making sure every single partner receives everything they ordered!

Ephesians 1:16 says, “I never stop giving thanks for you as I mention you in my prayers.” I am so thankful for our partners and friends who support this ministry with their prayers and their donations. Without them, we would not exist and millions of people would not be hearing about the signs of the soon coming of Jesus! Now that is an unbearable thought! I am thankful that God is helping us to solve this issue and to make sure every partner is taken care of.

I’m thankful that God has given us the opportunity to minister to millions. Psalm 26:7 says, “That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all your wondrous works.”

I’m also thankful for the things we take for granted often: a roof over our heads, for the beautiful stars in the sky, and for life and abundant life. I’m thankful that God promises to never, never, never leave us or forsake us.

Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.” I’m thankful for Olivia – this beautiful grandchild God has given us! And I’m thankful for all my children!

I’m thankful for our 24/7 Prayer Center that God has made possible for us to minister and pray without ceasing in these perilous times. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing,” and that is what we are endeavoring to do here at Morningside.

Finally, I’m thankful for my wonderful wife, Lori. Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD.” Believe me, I found a good thing when I found Lori and I know it was God’s favor on my life to have her minister by my side in this great commission.

As we enter the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s remember to choose thankfulness as a state of heart!
