Happy Mother’s Day To Our Mom…Lori Bakker

Proverbs 31:28, 29 (NIV) 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Dear Mom,

Years ago, God fulfilled a dream for all of us by bringing you into our lives!  You have always gone above and beyond as a mother and have never wavered for what God wanted for us. We know it has been hard for you sometimes.  You have held our hands when we were hurting, and rejoiced when we were happy. We appreciate so much how you have always strived to do your best as well as knowing when to be loving and when to be firm.   You never compromised when you knew what you felt was the right thing to do and stood strong through every struggle, always ready to share your wisdom.  When we have struggled, it has been your prayers that lifted us up and helped us move forward.  Most important of all, you have loved us, each of us…unconditionally. In so many ways you have shown us how special we are to your heart.

You have been the greatest example of God’s love!

So many call you Mama Lori… and there are beautiful reasons for that.

Not only are you an incredible Mom and Grandmother,  bonus mother to our students at the ministry, a loving friend to so many who come here to fill up with God’s word and a faithful ear to our staff, you are an amazing wife! We see you be of constant support to our Dad and the glue that binds our family and ministry together. You are the rock for all of your children that are running this ministry. No one could possibly know what you do every day of your life.

Each of us, inspired by your faith, strength and courage wake each day with the desire to be the best we can be.  We may not be from your womb, but we know that from the beginning, it was the will of God for you to be our Mother.  Thank you!  We Love YOU!!

Happy, happy Mother’s Day!

Claire, Maricela, Lori, Ricky & Tammy Sue

Mom,

You are the most influential person in my life. You are my hero. When I came to be with you I was a little nine year old girl entering this whole new world but I knew even at that age that God had called me to this family. You were so sensitive to my needs as a child, so kind and loving to me. We have been through so much together! Our relationship is one of mutual support and I value every shared moment tremendously. What honors me most is that you allow me to always be there for you too.

Thank you God for this amazing gift of being your daughter! Love, Claire

Dear Mom,

You are an amazing woman of God and someone I am honored to call my Mom.  You are always there in our times of need and no matter how old I get, even though I am married now and in my own home you are always there to comfort me and tell me that everything will work out for the good.  As you have always told us, “I will always be your Mom!”

There is something so comforting in knowing that you will always have someone who believes in you and thinks you can do anything if you put your mind to it!  Not only do you impact the world for the Lord, you continue to impact our family on a daily basis!

I love you Mom,

Maricela

Mom,

As I have grown and become a Mother too, I think of you and me.  I see how alike we are and it is so good! I truly love certain qualities that I see in myself and I see in you too. We enjoy so much of the same things and what I love most is doing those things with you!  We are both quality time people. The most peaceful times for me are when we can just “BE” together.  Like sitting on the deck, drinking some coffee.  We don’t have to talk at all.  It is just something that is so special to me!

You have been an incredible example of motherhood for me as our little Olivia has grown.  Your inspiration and all the time spent loving and raising me, has taught me so much!  Thank you for being such a wonderful grandmother and truly one of my dearest friends.

I love you so much,

Lori

Dear Mom,

Dad has made it a point to show that you are his strong suit. You are “The Woman” in his life and until I get married, you will be “The Woman” in MY life. I hope you know how much I love you!  There are so many things you have taught me.  From the moment of my adoption as your son, you have taught me to fully put my trust in God. You have taught me the power of prayer and how to pray and to pray right!  Not the ‘words’ that you come to God with, but with the intention. You have taught me to be responsible for my mistakes and to show compassion for other people.  Without your structure and faith I would never have made it through some of my rebellious times!  You have taught me that life is like a learning lesson because until the day you die you never stop learning; when you think you know everything you find out you don’t really know anything. But my favorite lesson is this: “You become the people you surround yourself with”.  Many kids don’t really like family time but I realize that I DO want to be like my Dad and I DO want to be like my Mom. Thank you for all you do in my life!  I love you!!

Love, Ricky

Mom,

You are and have been my greatest source of inspiration.  You have always been so supportive of me. No matter what is happening in my life you always lifted me up!  I can never thank you enough for encouraging me with my singing career and somehow always knowing how to make me feel so special! There are few people in life that you KNOW absolutely love you.  I know that you love me and accept me for who I truly am.  I will be eternally grateful for your faith in me!  Thank you Mom!

Happy Mother’s Day! I love you!

Tammy Sue
