A ball of light that may have been a meteor streaking across the night sky sparked reports of sightings up and down the eastern U.S. seaboard, officials say.

Witnesses described the bright object as “a thin streak of blue-greenish-white,” CNN reported Saturday.

The object was not anything manmade, like a falling satellite, said Michael Kucharek, a spokesman for NORAD.
