Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker give Pastor Jim’s Message for 2012: Depression for Day 3 on The Jim Bakker Show.
Quotes
Friends are encouraging each other in evil, rather than reading the Word of God. -Pastor Jim Bakker
Narrative
People have become narcissistic in today’s society. The love of money is destroying our nation. Children do not obey their parents or they are not thankful for the things that they receive. The book of Timothy describes exactly what is happening in today’s times. Given five years where will America be? Children hate that which is good and turn against their friends and will partake in foolish things given no thought to their actions. Our country serves pleasure rather than the Creator. There is a great deal of religions in our society, but they do not want to have to pay the price and face what is coming. We are living in an II Timothy society and we should avoid these types of people.
Lori speaks of an instance when she first got into church. She told of a beautiful woman of God who was anointed and stood behind her husband, a pastor. The women let silly women come between her and her husband and ultimately it destroyed their relationship. She was led into deception, which eventually led her into a deep depression. She woke up and she not only came back to her first love, Jesus, but also to her husband. God restored her and allowed the things that destroyed her to be in the past.
People are so quick to ignore the teaching of our Lord about divorce. Friends are encouraging each other in evil, rather than reading the Word of God. Millions do not even know what Jesus has taught, because they have not taken time to read what he said. People hate and stir up trouble and think that they have a right to do whatever they please. Trouble always takes place in a church whenever people get together in a party-type spirit. Gossipers and backbiters are the reason many churches are destroyed. Pastor Jim has never seen a church destroyed by concern about how many were being saved or how many new converts there were. People in churches fight over craziest things and thus churches can split over silliness. Pastor Jim actually saw a church nearly destroyed over the color a sanctuary was painted. He recalls a church that everyone was fighting because they did not like the color the church was to be painted. The pastor asked every saint to write down the color they wanted the church painted. That Sunday, when people came to church, they were given the color they wanted. Everyone had different colors and the pastor stood with a huge bucket and asked them all to come forward and dump their paint colors into the bucket. When everyone had dumped their colors, it made the ugliest color of brown anyone had seen. This was a lesson that not everyone can have their own way. We must work together as the Bride of Christ and learn to give and take.
As we prepare for end times, there is nearly 1 billion people who do not have access to clean water. The need to prepare is vital for all families at this point. Word number 5 that God gave to Pastor Jim is “collapse.” Whole countries and organizations are all going to crash. We must make sure that our families are ready. The Hostess Company filed for bankruptcy today. This major company has been an icon for decades. They are in debt billions and billions of dollars. They cannot pay for the food, labor and retirement plans for the employees. It is just a sign of the times. Churches are now filing for bankruptcy because they can no longer afford them. Banks do not like to mortgage churches, because they do not like to take them back, but it is happening.
Scriptures
II Timothy 3:1-3 NCV Remember this! In the last days there will be many troubles, because people will love themselves, love money, brag, and be proud. They will say evil things against others and will not obey their parents or be thankful or be the kind of people God wants. They will not love others, will refuse to forgive, will gossip, and will not control themselves. They will be cruel, will hate what is good,
Matthew 6:15 KJV But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
II Timothy 3:4-6 NCV will turn against their friends, and will do foolish things without thinking. They will be conceited, will love pleasure instead of God, and will act as if they serve God but will not have his power. Stay away from those people. Some of them go into homes and get control of silly women who are full of sin and are led by many evil desires.
II Timothy 3:7 NCV These women are always learning new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth fully.
II Timothy 3:7 KJV Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
I Timothy 6:4-12 KJV He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
I Timothy 6:17-18 KJV Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
I Timothy 6:19 KJV Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
