Taliban Warns of Terrorism Offensive

The Taliban announced they are beginning an offensive against what they call “foreign transgressors” and those who are working against them in Afghanistan. The terrorist organization is promising their “spring offensive” will be “monumental.”

“We once again call on all the officials and workers of the stooge Karzai regime to break away from this decaying administration in order to conform to Islamic commands, national interests and protection of yourselves, and to choose a life of prosperity living alongside your own people in an atmosphere of peace and security,” the Taliban said in its statement. Taliban Kills 50 In Afghanistan

Taliban members dressed as soldiers assaulted a courthouse complex killing at least 50 people, 34 of them civilians.

At least 90 were injured, most of them civilians.

The attack in Farah province began around 9 a.m. local time when militants detonated explosives inside an army vehicle damaging the local governor’s office and two banks packed with civilians. UN Secretary General Says Taliban Possibly Willing To Hold Talks

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told the Security Council on Tuesday that the Taliban might be willing to talk with the UN about minimizing causalities in Afghanistan.

“I encourage a meaningful dialogue to reduce this intolerable, continuing death toll and to protect civilians,” Ban said. He attributed his position to recent Taliban statements he felt showed a “willingness to engage.” Continue reading
