Flash flooding in the Krasnodar region killed at least 171 people on Friday night with local officials admitting they were unable to give adequate warning. Two local leaders have already been dismissed because of the incident and President Vladimir Putin has demanded a full report of the incident.

Over 15,000 acres of land has burned in central Colorado as an out of control wildfire is threatening the city of Colorado Springs. The fire doubled in size overnight.
Over 800 firefighters are fighting the blaze which is considered only 5% contained. Much of the city is under a mandatory evacuation order due to the threat. The US Air Force Academy has also been evacuated due to the smoke and fire. Continue reading →
Baghlan governor Munshi Majeed told the BBC that more than 80 people have been killed in a massive landslide caused by twin earthquakes in Afghanistan on Monday.

At least 15 people died and thousands have been left homeless by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in the Emilia region of Italy. The quake struck at 9:03 a.m. local time sending residents and business employees racing into the street to avoid crumbling buildings.
